Cute, and somewhat annoying at times, Tommy and Timmy Nook are Tom Nook's helpers. Where Tom Nook is a bit more serious, and at times, sinister, Tommy and Timmy are jovial and pretty innocent (for the most part). They first showed up in Animal Crossing: Wild World, and have been included in each iteration sense.

They are helpful, corny, and enthusiastic store managers. However, there is a lot we don't know about these guys. What is their birthday? Are they even related to Tom Nook? Find out the answers to these questions and more below.

While it may be implied that Tom Nook is their uncle or a relative, it is said that these two are not actually related to Tom Nook. They are instead his pupils or mentees. In a previous game, Tom Nook discusses that these two are not a part of his biological family. It was also a rumor that they were two orphaned Nooklings that Tom Nook took in. Whether they are or aren't, it's pretty cool that Tom Nook treats them like family.

9 They Are Geminis

The fact that Tommy and Timmy Nook are twins makes absolute sense as their birthday is June 7th. The zodiac symbol for this part of the year is Gemini, whose symbol is actually known to be a twin. Individuals born under this sign are known to be curious, affectionate, and kind. All three attributes perfectly describe these crafty siblings. It's also worth noting that they share a birthday with some notable people: comedian Bill Hader, actor Michael Cera, and singer Prince.

8 Their Names Have Not-So-Nice Meanings In German

Tommy and Timmy have different interpretations of their names in various languages. In German, they are known as "Nepper" and "Schlepper." These names were chosen mostly because they rhyme and sound pretty cute.

Unfortunately, these names translate to con-men and double dealers in the German language. Hmmm. Did the individuals who named these characters know or realize something we didn't?

7 A Physical Defect Helps Tom Nook Tell These Guys Apart

It's hard at times to tell twins apart from each other. However, Tom Nook has a nifty way of being able to know who is who. He has noticed that one of the twins has a mole on their paw. Also, Timmy has a higher-pitched voice than the other—which can also help distinguish them from one another. The only problem is that Tom Nook still can't figure out who has the mole and who doesn't. Talk about a responsible mentor.

6 Child Labor?

While you may not have noticed it, Timmy and Tommy are still children. That wouldn't be a problem, but these guys are in charge of running the town's most central hub of commerce. Should the townspeople feel comfortable with two kids managing the money and capital of a working city? It brings into question the judgment of Tom Nook, and if these two are his pupils or two naive kids caught up in an inappropriate labor situation.

5 The Reason For Timmy And Tommy's Flag

If you have played Animal Crossing: New Horizons, you may have noticed that Timmy and Tommy carry around a flag. This isn't too odd, but it is weird enough to pique curiosity. Well, a recent comic reveals why this is the case.

These two guys wanted to be tour guides, and the flag was used to lead people. The flag was even altered to make it small enough for these two guys to hold it. How cute is it that Timmy and Tommy's flag is used to help others?

4 They Will Kick You Out At 10 PM

Timmy and Tommy are serious about those 10 PM closing times. It is well-known that Nook's Cranny closes at 10 PM, but some savvy players decided to test the theory if they would be kicked out or asked to leave once the time came. Well, in most countries—including the USA—Timmy and Tommy will inform you that it is closing time and will ask you to leave. These guys are polite, but they also understand that they need their rest. That DIY recipe can wait until tomorrow.

3 They Don't Seem To Have A Home

This goes for Tom Nook and Isabelle as well, but Timmy and Tommy Nook don't seem to have a residence. Once they close up shop at Nook's Cranny, they seem to just kind of disappear. Do they sleep at the Residence Services building, or do they break out some sleeping bags or cots and hang out at Nook's Cranny until morning? Whatever it is, they don't seem to have a home like the main character or the other residents. How weird.

2 Tommy Has Been The Victim Of Kidnappings

In March 2020, when Animal Crossing: New Horizons fever was at its highest, players were figuring out nifty ways to pay off their debt. Well, some gamers thought it would be a good idea to kidnap and trap Tommy Nook.

They then sent a ransom note to Tom Nook asking him to cancel their debt in exchange for Tommy Nook. Who knew Animal Crossing could turn into an episode of Law and Order?

1 How Can They Buy Everything?

Timmy and Tommy seem to have the ability to purchase everything that gamers bring into Nook's Cranny. From bugs to weeds, Timmy and Tommy don't discriminate when it comes to buying your items. So, who is bankrolling all of this? An argument can be made that Tom Nook is funding the market these two are working in. Where is he getting the money? Is it from your house payments? Hmmm.
