Animal Crossing: New Horizons just received its 2.0 update. While everyone is loving the fact that you can save your DIY recipes in storage (and the fact that the update launched several days ahead of schedule) people are less enthused about the sudden disappearance of all their hard-earned furniture and statues.

It seems like update 2.0 removed all furniture, statues, and other placeable items that players managed to install on their fourth tier of the island--the one that required players to exploit a glitch to reach in the first place. The update didn't delete all your items, however. You can find them all in the recycling bin outside of the resident services building.

Reddit user JiubSt found that out the hard way when their tastefully nude statues disappeared. Players that had a lot of items placed on the previously-inaccessible fourth-tier might find their recycling bins full to the brim, and players are reporting if there were more items than the recycling bin could contain, some of those items were permanently deleted.

Besides this unwelcome surprise, version 2.0 brings a bunch of more desirable content to the hit game of the pandemic era. Brewster is back and has his own coffee shop on your island, naturally. There's also a bunch more villagers who might decide to set up shop, as well as a whole host of QOL improvements like being able to farm certain plants and increased home storage.

The Happy Home DLC will launch tomorrow, barring any more surprises from Nintendo, and will be New Horizons’ "first and only DLC." It'll provide new home development options such as new interior and exterior designs much like the 3DS title, Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer.
