Gary Whitta's Animal Crossing talk show, Animal Talking, is getting Captain Marvel and Scott Pilgrim actress Brie Larson as a guest next week. Popular content creator DrLupo will also be joining the show alongside voice actress Friskk,  and musician Kenny Fong. The episode will be airing live on Twitch on Thursday, July 23rd at 7 PM PST.

Brie Larson went viral earlier this month when she discussed her love of the Nintendo Switch with iJustine (via Forbes). Larson ran out of her room to show hers off and passionately exclaimed how cute Justine's was. This video likely made her the most-requested guest in Animal Talking history.

Star Wars: Rogue One writer and frequent Kinda Funny host Gary Whitta began Animal Talking shortly after Animal Crossing: New Horizons came out. In lieu of not having talk shows on TV, Whitta created one on Twitch with special guests joining in. One of the biggest factors that go into inviting a guest for Whitta is that they have to like the game and be able to talk about it on the show. Guests like The Lord of the Rings' Elijah Wood and Danny Trejo from Machete have gushed about the game on Animal Talking.

Brie Larson is most notably known as Captain Marvel in the movie of the same name. The film made $1.037 billion a month after its release and Larson portrayed the first leading woman in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Earlier on, Larson won an Oscar for her dramatic role in Room. She also played as Envy Adams, one of Ramona's edgy ex-dates, in Scott Pilgrim vs. The World.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons, since it released in March, has sold over 13.41 million copies and has been received incredibly well by critics. It currently has a 90 MetaCritic score. It makes sense that a talk show is being made inside Animal Crossing: New Horizons, bizarre as it is. The community of that game seems very tight-knit, and the creativity of the fanbase is pretty unmatched. Like Some Good News, Animal Talking is an escape from the panicked COVID-19 world around us, and the show's fans enjoy the overall positive tone that it provides.
