In anime, you get a wide variety of female characters. Some are tough, some are gentle, some are sweet, some are cruel, some are calm, some are annoying, and the list goes on. But we know that no matter what, many of these awesome women are sure to be memorable.
Probably all of my favorite anime female characters are from Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood. They’re all just so awesome and for many different reasons. Some of them are very tough and powerful, but there are some that are a bit softer and kinder, but they’re still well developed as characters. All of these women are just so great and I don’t get tired of seeing them in action.
So, what do we do with our favorite lady characters? We make fanart, of course! A lot of fans like to create their own fanart of their favorite female characters. And part of that is imagining what these characters would be like in the future, or in an alternate storyline. So of course, a lot of fans like to imagine these ladies as moms.
It’s fun to think what these awesome women would be like as mothers. What type of mom would they be? Would they be kind and patient? Would they be a strict mom? Or would they be the tough but loving and protective mom? Well, these artists decided to find out and create beautiful art pieces of some amazing anime women.

25 A Sweet Moment In The Middle Of The Night
Orihime gets a polar reaction from fans of Bleach. Some really like her, and some can’t stand her. But it is pretty cool that she takes on a more proactive role in the later seasons.
Orihime would be an absolutely fantastic mother. She’s an incredibly kind and loving person, but there’s also that strength in her. You know that she would love and protect her kids with all her heart. And the fact that people ship her with Ulquiorra is interesting. But I think they would be a nice couple.
24 They’re A Happy And Adorable Family
You can’t hate Levy from Fairy Tail. You really can’t. She’s kind, smart, and full of fire. And the fact that she’s short makes her pretty endearing. And the fact that she and Gajeel seem to have something going on is awesome. They’re a bit of an odd couple, but they work.
Levy and Gajeel would be different but amazing parents.
This art piece of the two as parents is absolutely adorable; They both look so happy. Levy would be an amazing mom. She would definitely read to her kids all the books, and Gajeel would probably sing to them.
23 Her Kids Will Totally Be Ninjas
For someone so small, Mei Chang from Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood packs quite the punch. She’s got some formidable alkahestry skills, which she uses to both hurt and heal. And practically everyone ships her with Alphonse.
I think Mei would be a pretty awesome mom. She would be loving but very firm. If her kids acted out, she would put them in their place right away. And she would teach them how to kick all the behind. Plus, this art piece of the loving family is just too sweet.
22 A Beautiful Mother And Daughter
It’s actually canon that Usagi and Tuxedo Mask from Sailor Moon have a kid together since she shows up. (Long story, don’t worry about it). Considering the two danced around each other throughout the series, it’s not surprising they have a daughter.
This art piece of the two is so precious and beautifully done. All the colors just make the scene so sweet and vibrant. I think Usagi would be a great mom, though maybe a bit scatterbrained. Her daughter would know that no matter what, she is loved.
21 An Awesome Digi Family
Kari came as a bit of a surprise in Digimon since she turned out to be the 8th DigiDestined. But while she was pretty young, she proved to be an awesome DigiDestined, full of determination and strength. And she’s also one of the kindest people you’ll ever meet.
Kari would be such a loving mother.
Kari would be an awesome mother. She’s full of patience and love, and she would be great with kids. And her and TK make an awesome couple. I love this piece of the whole family. Their kids are so cute! And I love that they’re with their Digimon.
20 An Awesome Host And Mother
What’s cool about Haruhi from Ouran Highschool Host Club is how unconcerned she is about gender norms. For her, it didn’t matter if people thought she looked like a boy or a girl; she was just Haruhi. And her relationship with Tamaki is both hilarious and sweet.
Haruhi would probably be a pretty chill mom, which would balance out Tamaki’s energy. She would be supportive of her kids no matter what and she would probably encourage them to be honest with others and themselves.
19 It’s Water And Ice
Juvia may have started out as a semi-crazy enemy in Fairy Tail, but she eventually joins up with the guild and becomes one of the gang. Considering her massive crush on Gray, it makes sense that a lot of people ship her with the guy.
I think Juvia would struggle with motherhood a bit, but she’d get the hang of it. And you know that she would love her kids like crazy. Plus, if anyone ever threatened her kids, she would definitely end that person without a second thought.
18 This Half Demon Family Never Looked Better
Considering how volatile Inuyasha is, it would make sense that the only person who could handle him is the strong-minded Kagome. This girl may not look like much, but she’s got one fiery temper that you don’t want to mess with.
Their child is a nice blend of the two.
Kagome would be a very kind but firm mother. She’d probably be pretty good at handling unruly kids. And this art piece is very sweet. I like that the artist gave the kid Inuyasha’s white hair and ears, but they also have Kagome’s eyes.
17 She Wants To Be The Very Best Mom
Misty was one of those Pokémon trainers who’s driven. She wasn’t going to stop until she was the best. Plus, the fact that she initially became a part of Ash’s gang because he wrecked her bike and she wanted him to replace it is pretty funny.
I could see Misty being a pretty fun mom. I don’t know if having a kid would be in her plans, but she would take to it amazingly after a bit. This art piece of her expecting is beautiful. It shows a quiet moment in a really beautiful light.
16 Her Kids Would Be So Tough
You can’t deny it, Rukia is about as tough as they come. She goes through so much throughout Bleach, and she bore it seriously well. Her interactions with Ichigo were also pretty hilarious, since their personalities clashed like crazy. So of course, people ship them.
Rukia would probably be terrified to be a mother at first, but she’d definitely warm up after a while. She would make sure her kids are well protected. And I think she and Ichigo would make great parents. Their kid in this art piece is just adorable.
15 The Love Is Real
Asuna from Sword Art Online is a pretty cool girl. She comes across initially as this cold, focused warrior, but Kirito does bring out her warmer side. She’s a great warrior and a rather kind person.
We did get a taste of Asuna being a mother.
We have seen Asuna’s more motherly side when she and Kirito basically adopted Yui. She was totally devoted to this little girl and was willing to do anything to protect her. This art piece shows this little family in a really sweet moment. It’s beautiful and a bit sad too.
14 Think Her Kid Would Like Calcifer?
Howl’s Moving Castle is a movie and not a show, but it’s anime, so we’re counting it. And Sophie is such an awesome character. She starts out as a shy girl who doesn’t have much ambition, and then she grows into a strong and determined woman. Plus, her interactions with Howl are just fantastic.
I think Sophie would make a rather calm but awesome mom. She’s a pretty sensible lady, and she’d be able to handle if her kids were dramatic like their father. And you know that she would love them dearly, even if they exasperated her.
13 She Should Teach Her Kids To Break Rocks Too
Sakura is another one of those characters from Naruto that fans either love or hate. I like that she packs a powerful punch, but her taste in men is questionable. (Seriously, she could do so much better than Sasuke).
It is canon that Sakura and Sasuke have a daughter, so we don’t have to work too hard to imagine Sakura as a mom. And I think she’s a pretty awesome mom. Considering Sasuke’s gone all the time, Saukra is rocking it at being basically a single mother. But this art piece of the family is very cute.
12 Watch Out, Hayate!
Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood has a lot of awesome female characters. And one that really stands out is Riza Hawkeye. This lady is the definition of control and precision. And the only thing more impressive than her skills is her devotion to Colonel Mustang.
This family is incredibly adorable.
While we never saw it in the series, the creator did confirm that these two got together eventually. And this art piece of them is just too cute! Riza would be a pretty stern mother at times, but I think her kids would bring out her softer side too.
11 Cutest Kid Indeed
I’ll admit that Lucy isn’t my favorite character in Fairy Tail, but she’s still a pretty cool character in general. Her charms make her a pretty awesome magic user, and it’s fun to see her interactions with the Fairy Tail guild.
And this art piece of her with her kid is super cute. I think Lucy would take to motherhood pretty smoothly. And you know she would be so proud of her kids, no matter what they do. But don’t threaten them. She will mess you up.
10 She’s A Very Patient Mother
Quite a few fans were upset when Hinata and Naruto became a couple. But I personally think they make a great pair since they complement each other very well. Naruto brings Hinata out of her shell, and Hinata has a nice calming presence on Naruto.
And this art piece of the family is very sweet; you can practically feel the love radiating off the two. Hinata would be and is shown to be an awesome mom. She’s kind but firm, and she has a lot of patience, which is probably a good thing with her kids.
9 They’re Blasting Off Again!
Jessie and James may have been the main antagonists in the Pokémon anime, but they were actually pretty interesting characters. And a lot of fans shipped them so hard. You can’t really blame the fans; the two already banter like a married couple.
Jessie and James would be very loving as parents.
I think Jessie would be a pretty great mother, actually. She would maybe be a bit high strung at the beginning, but I think James would help calm her down. I like this art piece of the family. I could see them just going out to the park with their Pokémon.
8 Don’t Mess With this Momma
Out of all the DigiDestined in Digimon, Sora seems to be the most down-to-earth girl. She was usually the one who helped keep Matt and Tai from going too far in their bickering. And she was generally the voice of reason when tensions ran high.
Sora would be an awesome mom. She’s a pretty calm person in general, but she also doesn’t let people get away with things. And she would adore her kids. But if anyone tried to threaten them, she would totally destroy them.
7 The Toughest Mom You’ve Seen
Olivier Armstrong is probably the toughest and possibly the scariest woman in Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood. She’s taken on some great foes without breaking a sweat and she’s faced some really tough decisions. She isn’t called the Bear of the North for nothing.
I’ll admit, it’s hard to see Olivier as a mother, since she doesn’t seem to be much of the nurturing type. But you know that she would be very devoted and loyal to her kids. And apparently, a lot of people ship her with Miles. This art piece of the family is pretty charming and funny.
6 She’d Be One Stylish Mom
While some found Mimi to be an annoying character in Digimon, she does prove to be a pretty capable DigiDestined when it came down to it. She may be a girl of fashion, but don’t underestimate her. And apparently, a lot of fans ship her with Matt.

Mimi would be that mom that takes a ton of pictures of her kids and dresses them up in cute little outfits. I think she would love being a mom. And she would be very loving toward her kids. I wonder if her kids would be into fashion like she is?
