Ubisoft is staying true to its promise of making Assassin's Creed Valhalla the longest supported game in the series. Eivor has already travelled from Norway to England, and then went on to raid Vinland, Ireland, and Paris. The Viking has also made their way to the Norse mythological realms of Asgard and Jotunheim in the form of the All Father.
The developer has now teased an announcement for Monday, which will probably reveal where Eivor will be heading next. "There is more to see than Midgard in Assassin's Creed Valhalla," said the tweet by the official Assassin's Creed handle, which revealed that the announcement will be made on Monday, December 13.
The wording of the tweet suggests that a new location will soon open up, and it will be another Norse realm rather than a historical one. Leaks and datamines over the past few months have further pointed towards this new location being Muspelheim, the realm of fire, flame, and Surtr. Additionally, a datamine in October revealed that the DLC will be called 'Dawn of Ragnarok', and Ubisoft itself had also teased an image of a gate surrounded by flames and lava, hinting at Muspelheim being the next destination.
Another recent leak has revealed a whole bunch of new content that will be coming to the game. However, it's unclear whether it will be among the announcements on Monday, or something coming later on. According to the leak, the Simplified Chinese translation of the DLC's name is "Doomsday Dawn", which sounds an awful lot like 'Dawn of Ragnarok'. If you open up your history books, Surtr plays a pivotal role in the events of Ragnarok, and hails from Muspelheim as well.
We've even got word from reliable insider, Tom Henderson, about a "40-Hour God of War-style" DLC coming to the game some time in March 2022. "40 hours'' would suggest that this might be Valhalla's largest expansion yet, which means a large download size. But it seems that Ubisoft is aware of this and is working on a "data restructuring" update that will free up around 44GB of free space.
