Respawn might be playing games with its fans again with what looks to be yet another teaser, hinting at Crypto's appearance as the next playable character in Apex Legends. Littered across King's Canyon are a number of massive structures that display three electronic banners, used in-game to identify the current match's kill leader as well as the champion squad, are now showing what seems to be intentionally "glitched" displays — either completely blacked-out or paired with a bit of code written in white text. One of the most popular Apex Legends streamers, TSM_Viss, tweeted a clip showcasing the confusing discovery.

Not only are the boards blacked out, but it seems that there are some peculiar sound modulations to further hint at a "hacked" system (heard in the above tweet). The reason why many believe this to signal Crypto's arrival to King's Canyon? He is our resident hacker.

Crypto was supposedly the cause of the Repulsor Tower's destruction, allowing the wildlife (the fliers and leviathans) to flood the map at the beginning of Season 2. Additionally, multiple hidden laptops could be found around the canyon leading up to the start of the season. Now, players are finding screens with loading bars that insinuate some sort of attempted system breach.

Viss wasn't the only one to point out the new easter egg however, as others were quick to note the glitch, most notably "That1MiningGuy— the data miner responsible for providing the public with a large amount of correct predictions for upcoming content. He offered a breakdown of his own theories based off of a screenshot he took:

The text itself is a mess of references. There nods to specific Respawn developers and even a Spaceballs reference, adding to the chaos and hilarity. The line "Luggage12345" is an explicit reference to a joke from the comedy flick.

If there didn't already seem to be enough evidence to prove Crypto as our next Legend, this entire event seems to seal the deal... or perhaps a few tin-foil-hat skeptics are right, and this legitimately is a coincidental server glitch... but I wouldn't bet on it. Keep your eyes peeled for an announcement from Respawn about the upcoming Battle Royale character!
