Apex Legends is still one of the biggest free-to-play online Battle Royale games of today. Tons of players flock to play it each day, and it's easy to see why. The hero shooter formula meshing with the ever-popular last-person-standing format has proved to be an enduring success.

After playing the game for a while, most players will settle in comfortably with their favorite Legend to play as, so it only makes sense to personalize them and give them a bit of flair. Today, we're going over the best cosmetics available for each Legend. You'll want to get your hands on these if you want to be at the height of fashion for your favorite character.

Updated June 5, 2023 by Stephen LaGioia: Apex Legends has seen a slew of updates with new Legends and features over the months and years, adding to the already gripping battle royale fun. This has culminated with the launch of a more traditional FPS-style team deathmatch mode, along with the newest character, the seasoned gun-slinger Ballistic.

Not surprisingly, an expanding slew of cool Legend skins has come out alongside these updates, with the recent Veiled Collection event showing off some particularly cool ones. With an almost overwhelming amount of awesome skins to try on, we felt it was time to revisit and add to this attractive list.

Each skin listed is Legendary or Legendary exclusive in rarity.

20 Wraith - Flashpoint

Apex Legends Best Skins Wraith
  • Cost: 10,500 Legend Tokens

The beauty of Wraith having great skins in Apex Legends is that not only is she a beloved character in terms of design, but she also manages to always be in the upper tiers in terms of competitive play. She harnesses movement and uses it to her advantage, and positioning one's self in an optimal fashion will always carry value.

Her Flashpoint skin displays a backstory of her origin as a lab patient and mixes in her base straitjacket imagery in a clever and cohesive way that adds a heavy splash of blue and orange.

19 Wattson - Cyber Security

Apex Legends Wattson Cyber Security Skin
  • Cost: 1,200 Crafting Metals

Wattson started life in Apex Legends as one of the best characters, but she slipped into being one of the underrated ones as more legends arrived. Fortunately, in more recent seasons she has made her way back to being a fan favorite.

On the surface, Natalie Paquette seems harmless, but true fans know that she is extremely powerful and a force to be reckoned with. The skin brings how powerful she is to the surface. The dark color makes you focus on the electricity that she can easily manipulate to take you down.

18 Ash - Opalescent Serpent

Apex Legends Ashe Opalescent Serpent skin
  • Cost: 2,400 Crafting Metals or 1,800 Apex Coins

Born under the harsh conditions of Frontier, Ash was hired on by a mercenary group for the purpose of stealing an experimental fuel source. This led to a tragic accident which saw her brain put in a simulacrum shell. The result is the cold, deadly cyborg Assault Legend Ash.

This sleek and vibrant skin complements her robotic nature, adding some life and color to what is a typically darker, more monochromatic scheme for her. It also presents a sort of deadly assassin or mercenary look a la Assassin's Creed, which in many ways suits her nicely.

17 Wraith - Apex Voidshifter

Apex Legends Apex Voidshifter Ash skin
  • Cost: N/A, Winter Express LTM (limited time mode)

Thematically, this Prestige Wraith skin fits both the Winter Express event and the Legend who wears it. The flashy, icy-cool color scheme is emblematic of the seasonal event, which had players scramble to capture a train or wipe out the team controlling it.

At the same time, the suit presents a sort of speedy superhero or supersoldier vibe, which is fitting given Wraith's speed, and her ability to move about in a flash. The skin also stands out in adding a defensive stoutness; a departure from her typically lighter skins.

16 Pathfinder - Memoir Noir

Apex Legends Apex Pathfinder noir
  • Cost: 1,800 Apex Coins

In a reference that stands out to many — though is likely to escape much of Apex Legends' younger audience — the robotic scout Pathfinder is given a skin that's both cheeky and cool. Referencing old-time film noirs, the retro detective outfit amusingly juxtaposes Pathfinder's sci-fi themes. It also meshes with his inquisitive nature — in an abstract way at least.

Originally part of the Fight Night Bundle in early 2021, fans were happy to see this one make its emphatic return in December of that year, as well as 2022.

15 Wattson - Solar Static

Apex Legends Solar Static Wattson
  • Cost: 2,400 Crafting Metals or 1,800 Apex Coins

Is it any wonder that this glamorous outfit costs more than the typical 1,2000 Crafting Metals? After all, it truly resembles a skin crafted by the gods. With a blend of ancient mythology and sci-fi, the outfit seems to resemble something out of Hades or modern Zelda games.

This gold-laced skin was released by way of the Veiled Collection Event in April 2023, and has quickly become one of the most appealing outfits among a sea of dozens. The warm, sleek skin stands out compared to the vastly different coats and technological garb sported by this electrician.

14 Octane - Fiendish Filigree

Apex Legends Fiendish Filgree Octane
  • Cost: 2,400 Crafting Metals or 1,800 Apex Coins

Among others, Fiendish Filigree particularly stood out when it was released as part of the Veiled Collection Event in early 2023. Being one of the wilder, cruder Legends in the game, it's interesting to see the high-energy Skirmisher wearing something so elegant and sleek.

Still, there is some of that more typical Octane flair, with the intimidating golden horned helmet. While his style tends to be more steampunky, it tends to work in its own way. Game of Thrones' Son of the Harpy, he is not — though this skin does bear some resemblance.

13 Horizon - Terra Nova

Apex Legends Horizon Terra Nova Skin
  • Cost: 1,200 Crafting Metals or 1,800 Apex Coins

Horizon's reason for joining the games is slightly heart-breaking, but it makes you see how strong of a character she truly is. After she was the victim of an act of betrayal, she found herself hurtling through a black hole that spat her out in the future. All she wants now is to get back to her son.

The Terra Nova skin has a steam-punk feel to it, especially with the goggles on her head. However, the thing that makes this one her best skin is the lack of technology built into it. Any Apex player knows that Horizon is an extremely smart Astrophysicist and having an outfit equipped on her that lacks any technological aspects shows that she doesn't need fancy tools to show it off. Her intelligence is all her.

12 Bloodhound - Great Winter

Apex Legends Best Skins Bloodhhound
  • Cost: 10,500 Legend Tokens
  • Rarity: Legendary Exclusive

Bloodhound has built a legacy on their ability to stay hidden and gather valuable intel on whoever happens to be their target. Normally they'll have an outfit composed of darker neutral colors that fall in the more naturally occurring spectrum of colors. That's why their Great Winter skin is so unique and stands out.

The bright white of this skin is such an antithetical design scheme to what Bloodhound's skills allow them to accomplish out on the battlefield. It would have been a neat inclusion if their raven was also sporting a white coat of feathers on its body.

11 Octane - The Victory Lap

Apex Legends Octane The Victory Lap Skin
  • Cost: 1,200 Crafting Metals or 1,800 Apex Coins

As many probably know, Octane loves performing death-defying stunts and tricks for his loyal fans but it doesn't always end well for him. His most daring stunt included him blowing himself up using grenades to try to beat a speed record. Unfortunately, he blew his own legs off in the process.

The skin is a brilliant throwback to his life before joining the games. With the helmet, goggles, and generic stunt person attire, it truly feels as though it's an outfit he would have worn during his many stunts.

10 Pathfinder - War Machine

Apex Legends Best Skins Pathfinder
  • Cost: 1,800 Apex Coins

Pathfinder, the jolly robot legend, has the added benefit of being one of the early faces of Apex Legends and therefore has a collection of stellar skins. One that stands out is its War Machine skin that was part of the 2019 Iron Crown Event.

In addition to it sporting a complete set of white robotic plates similar to that of the machines from the Portal series, Pathfinder's War Machine skin also has a stain-glass sun on its chest that's smiling from ear to ear.

9 Fuse - Man-O-War

Apex Legends Fuse Man-O-War Skin
  • Cost: 1,200 Crafting Metals or 1,800 Apex Coins

Fuse is one of the more recent Legends to join the games and he is definitely a lot of fun to play as. His confident and cocky personality gives even Mirage a run for his money. This is why his Man-O-War outfit is so iconic as it completely suits his personality.

Fuse came from a planet that was run by Warlords before it became a part of Syndicate Space, so it was quite literally a Planet where anything was allowed. Much like how if you're a pirate, there aren't many or any rules that apply to you. It's hard to compare this skin to anything else but a pirate.

8 Bloodhound - The Plague Doctor

Apex Legends Bloodhound Plague Doctor Skin
  • Cost: 1,200 Crafting Metals or 1,800 Apex Coins

You don't need to have played Apex for long to realize that Bloodhound is one of the most dangerous Legends and the one you need to keep an eye out for. Their ability to track your every move and figure out where you are puts them leaps and bounds ahead of other characters. If you have Bloodhound on your team, then there is a good chance you'll make it to the top five.

Their Plague Doctor skin makes them all the more intimidating as it looks a lot like the real Plague Doctor outfits that were worn during the plague outbreak in Europe.

7 Mirage - Old Town

Apex Legends Best Skins Mirage
  • Cost: 2,400 Crafting Materials or 1,800 Apex Coins

Most people look at Mirage's Old Town skin and assume it's simply meant to mimic a cowboy or pay tribute to the Western genre. The name of the skin, Old Town, seems to give the clearest indication of why this skin exists for the eccentric legend.

Old Town Road was a viral sensation and took over the music world in 2019. Lil Nas X managed to mix the worlds of hip-hop and country music in a way that resonated with millions. Mirage is the type of person who would have had the song on repeat, singing it day in and day out. It makes sense that he'd have a skin paying tribute to a special moment of internet and music culture.

6 Pathfinder - Model P

Apex Legends Pathfinder Model P Skin
  • Cost: 1,200 Crafting Metals or 1,800 Apex Coins

Even though he has no idea what his purpose is nor where he came from, his unshakeable positivity brings a bit of fun to the otherwise serious games. Despite his big heart and thirst for knowledge, at the end of the day Pathfinder is still a robot.

Model P allows Pathfinder to blend in a lot better with the environment, given its natural earthy brown coloration

This is where the Model P skin becomes important. Though it's not as fancy or as colorful as other skins featured on this list, it still feels like it has an important meaning behind it. It reminds everyone that Pathfinder is still a robot looking for his creator at the end of it all.

5 Lifeline - London Calling

Apex Legends Lifeline London Calling Skin
  • Cost: 1,200 Crafting Metals or 1,800 Apex Coins

Lifeline, also known as Ajay Che, is the daughter of wealthy parents who made a lot of money. She left home after finding out what they were and joined a charitable organization instead, helping those affected by the wars. However, it all started when Ajay met a band that was visiting her home planet, and this is why the London Calling outfit is her best one.

This outfit not only looks really cool and punk rock, but it also marks the beginning of her journey to becoming Lifeline.

4 Valkyrie - Titan Tested

Apex Legends Valkyrie Titan Tested Skin
  • Cost: 1,200 Crafting Metals or 1,800 Apex Coins

Valkyrie is the daughter of a well-known (and now missing) Titan Pilot called Viper. Her father's time as a Pilot was really influential on Valkyrie as she grew up, but his passing meant she didn't end up piloting a Titan - however, she did have her own ship.

After many years she tracked down the man she blamed for what happened to her dad and intended to kill him. She ended up taking his invitation to the Apex Games and used it as her own. Her jetpack is made out of one of the few remaining working parts from her father's Titan. The skin looks really cool and shows off how skilled Valkyrie is when it comes to engineering.

3 Wraith - The Liberator

Apex Legends Wraith The Liberator Skin
  • Cost: 1,200 Crafting Metals or 1,800 Apex Coins

Wraith is the product of experiments that went wrong, and for quite a while she spent her time feeling alone, trapped with the numerous voices in her head for company. Though she has many cool skins that you can equip, The Liberator has a lot of meaning behind it as it's a link to a crucial part of her origin story.

RELATED: Apex Legends: Best Character Emotes

In an extract from Stories From The Outlands, you see a terrified Wraith being rescued by a future and stronger version of herself. The way this skin is designed links to this event because this is how she became who she is now in the games. Hence the name The Liberator, as she liberated herself.

2 Mirage - The Revenger

Apex Legends Mirage The Revenger Skin
  • Cost: 1,200 Crafting Metals or 1,800 Apex Coins

Mirage wearing The Revenger skin presents the vibe of a long-lost member of The Guardians of the Galaxy. This Legend is the ultimate show-off, you don't have to be an expert at the game to know that. He is self-confident, cocky, and generally loves having all of the attention on him.

So in a game where stealth is important, and you might just get killed if you get spotted, what does Mirage do? He wears a bright yellow outfit that stands out against every single arena background. It's like he's asking to be hunted. But then again, with how self-confident this distracting and disorienting Legend is, losing probably isn't something he even thinks about.

1 Revenant - False Idol

Apex Legends Revenant False Idol Skin
  • Cost: 1,200 Crafting Metals or 1,800 Apex Coins

If Revenant isn't intimidating enough when he finishes his foes emphatically by shoving his hand through them, then what he really needed was a scary skin. Though this sleek attire may be gold and blue, it's far from reassuring to see in battle.

If you see Revenant and the giant goat-like head in this skin, you panic and probably come to the conclusion your time has come to an end. The skin also highlights the fact that his presence alone is terrifying enough.
