When you start Apex Legends, there are six base legends that you get for free. The rest of the Legends will need to be bought through the in-game currencies. Wraith - Stealth Meets Offense

  • Passive Ability: Voices From The Void
  • Tactical Ability: Into The Void
  • Ultimate Ability: Dimensional Rift

Wraith is a good Legend for new players to use as her passive ability allows her to sense when an enemy is aiming at her. This ability can give the player the chance to get to safety or look around and fight back. Her passive ability will also alert the rest of their team that there are enemies nearby.

Also, her tactical ability is helpful as it allows her to run through a void for a short time. This ability allows her to be able to move a short distance without sustaining any damage. The only downside is that when she is using this ability, there is a blue/white streak that is visible so enemies can anticipate where she may end up.

If you like to run and gun, Wraith might be the perfect choice for you. Wraith lets you play slightly more aggressively and break through other teams' defenses. Of course, you will need backup from your team if you decide to push forward. If you like intense action mixed with a moderate amount of stealth, Wraith will be the best legend for that playstyle.

Bangalore - An Offensive Powerhouse

  • Passive Ability: Double Time
  • Tactical Ability: Smoke Launcher
  • Ultimate Ability: Rolling Thunder

Bangalore is an excellent Legend for beginners to use as her defensive capabilities match her offensive abilities, so you're getting a little bit of both. Her passive ability of Double Time means that if an enemy is shooting at her, Bangalore gains a speed boost and can run faster but only for a short time. Additionally, her tactical ability called Smoke Launcher allows her to create concealment for her and her teammates. This ability can be used as a distraction or to launch an attack.

Then comes her ultimate ability, Rolling Thunder. Once this ability is charged, she can launch an artillery strike that spreads over a small area and will pretty much annihilate anyone in the vicinity. The destruction that this ability can cause is brilliant for new players as it can give them some easy kills and get them out of a sticky situation. Among seasoned players, Bangalore is considered one of the highest-tier characters.

Like Wraith, Bangalore is a fantastic offensive Legend. Bangalore is less sneaky but has a considerable amount more firepower. You should choose Bangalore if you think you have the best aim on your team and think you have what it takes to deal high-tier damage. She is also a natural choice for the captain of your team because her abilities are combat-ready and she can essentially control engagements with them.

Lifeline - The Only Medic (A Great One Too)

  • Passive Ability: Combat Medic
  • Tactical Ability: D.O.C Heal Drone
  • Ultimate Ability: Care Package

The main factor that makes Lifeline a very unique Legend is that she is the only one that is a medic. She can heal herself and heal her team through her abilities, which can be hugely beneficial in keeping the team alive. Her passive ability is extremely useful for new players as it is easy to deploy and you don't have to think too tactically about using it.

Her passive allows her to use her D.O.C drone to revive teammates, and while doing so it deploys a shield for cover. All through this, Lifeline can be on guard and shooting still. All the other legends cannot do anything else when they are reviving a teammate. Additionally, her ability to heal herself and her team allows you to stay alive for much longer.

Lifeline is the best choice for players who enjoy support class roles. It should go without saying, but you will want someone always playing as Lifeline in your team. Medics are always underrated classes in video games, and they sometimes make the difference between victory or defeat. Lifeline is also the perfect choice for players who prefer not to engage directly with enemies unless they have to. Having your medic be overly cautious is a huge benefit and will keep the rest of the team going.

Pathfinder - A Ziplining Jokester With A Knack For Recon

  • Passive Ability: Insider Knowledge
  • Tactical Ability: Grappling Hook
  • Ultimate Ability: Zipline Gun

Pathfinder's abilities are not offensive, but they can be a perfect choice for new players. The ever-optimistic MRVN can easily create smiles with his quips and unshakable happiness. His tactical ability of Grappling Hook is brilliant for making a quick exit from a potentially fatal situation. As a new player, it is easy to get stuck somewhere you're not supposed to be on the map, and it is even easier to be trapped by an enemy team. Therefore, being able to use Pathfinder's grappling hook to get away quickly is helpful.

When you start playing Apex, there is a lot to get used to in terms of gameplay. You need to get used to the weapon types and figure out which ones are for you. One thing you need to get used to is the maps and the potential ambush points. On top of that, you need to keep an eye on the containment ring or risk death. Pathfinder's ultimate ability, Zipline Gun, makes it easy to escape the containment ring should you find yourself stuck in it.

Pathfinder's playstyle fits into the newbie playstyle because of his zipline ability, but that is not to say that Pathfinder is only for beginners. You can get creative with his zipline ability to get the upper hand on an opposing team, making him a great Recon Legend. Pathfinder is the best Legend to explore and get used to the multiple maps in Apex Legends.

Bloodhound - The Tracker Supreme

  • Passive Ability: Tracker
  • Tactical Ability: Eye Of The Allfather
  • Ultimate Ability: Beast Of The Hunt

Out of all of the original Legends, Bloodhound is the best one for beginners to use. Bloodhound has one of the best tactical abilities of all Legends. It can be easy to get ambushed by an enemy squad and killed within seconds of dropping into the map, so having this advantage is game-changing. As their name suggests, all of Bloodhound's abilities let you track where enemies are or have been, and you can figure out your next moves based on this information.

If you suspect that there may be someone nearby, then you can use Bloodhound's tactical ability to scan the area. If there are enemies in the area, the scan will pick them up and point them out to you. Essentially, their ability will let you see enemies outlined in red for a short duration, even inside buildings. This ability can be helpful if the enemy teams are using Bangalore's smoke cover.

Bloodhound is a perfect choice for players who feel confident in their team's ability to take on opposing teams. Since Bloodhound can find opponents, you can have an advantage on your attacks. Of course, Bloodhound is nothing without a great team behind them so keep that in mind if you decide to play as them. When you have a well-balanced squad, Bloodhounds recon playstyle is undeniably one of the best in the game and will be paramount to your team's potential victory.
