Respawn Entertainment's Apex Legends, the new kid on the block as it pertains to the battle royale craze, has accidentally let us in on a fresh skin for one of its characters.
The free-to-play game, which is only a week old but has over 10 million players after hitting said milestone after just 72 hours, has a huge section of the gaming world hooked and they're apparently in for a long ride, with more content set to drop over the course of the next year.
A first tournament is already just over the horizon and interest is quite widespread. But it probably wasn't thought that Bloodhound would be getting a new skin so soon.
As it turns out, the game's tracker character probably is. An in-game glitch looks to have put a novel skin for the popular legend on show, one that wasn't part of Respawn's one-year road map for the title.
Reddit user Seasonics 40 posted a screenshot to the Apex Legends subreddit, which displays the character in what seems to be a Samurai get up.
There's no official name for it in the post, however.
Other Reddit users were privy to the leak as well and another, spicyboo, posted a photograph of a screen bearing same.
There's no confirmation regarding this skin at the moment and it's unknown as to whether or not it will make it to the full game. But this image looks too well thought out to not show up in Apex Legends eventually.
Meanwhile, both EA and Respawn have confirmed that Bloodhound is one of two LGBTQ characters in the game. Gibraltar, another popular character, is also portrayed as such (not actually in-game).
"Our studio is comprised of a diverse group of people, the player base of battle royale is comprised of a diverse group," Respawn has explained. "Having a diverse cast is super important. You want everyone to have someone they can connect to.”
How about that new appearance, though?
