Overly-generic name aside, Crytek’s Hunt: Showdown is one of the most innovative and captivating multiplayer titles to release in the past few years. Set in the backwater swamps of the American south, players use in-game currency to buy equipment and mercenaries and embark on quests to find and destroy demonic
bosses, all the while keeping an eye out for potentially dangerous rival hunters. It often gets tossed around in conversations regarding up-and-coming battle royale titles, but a Fortnite clone this is absolutely not. PvP is neither a goal nor a guarantee, and the overall experience is much slower and more methodical than most other games with which it is often associated.
