The leaker who revealed Octane as the next hero in Apex Legends stands by their words and adds that the Battle Pass will arrive on March 12th.

It’s only been a month since the release of Apex Legends, the surprise Battle Royale shooter from Respawn Entertainment, but the game has already surpassed 50 million players and is widely considered the new rival to the Fortnite juggernaut. All this for a free-to-play game with only 8 legends to choose from.

But perhaps not merely 8 for much longer.

According to recent leaks on Reddit, the 9th character to be released on Apex Legends will be called Octane. We don’t know a lot about him, but the name either means he’s all about fire or all about speed.

We also know he looks kinda like a Psycho from Borderlands, only with a slightly different mask. We know this because of the image released online of Octane being worked on by a Respawn employee.

Now we have confirmation from Daily Esports that a source close to the leak has confirmed the character will be named Octane. They even got their hands on a copy of the original drawing for Octane, which can be viewed on their website.

Another leaked image of Octane’s abilities shows that he’s all about speed. His passive allows him to regenerate hit points when out of combat, while his tactical ability gives him 30% movement speed for 8 seconds at the cost of 10% of his overall health.

His ultimate ability is to launch a jump pad for him and his allies to use. Fun times.

But wait, that’s not all! The leaker also told Daily Esports that Apex’s first Battle Pass will release on March 12th, with Octane to be “released either alongside the Battle Pass or just before it.”

We don’t know exactly what the Battle Pass will contain, but it seems likely to hold a bunch of cosmetic items and voice lines. If we’re lucky it might even have a few of the premium characters too.
