The newest legend to join the Apex Legends battlefield has been confirmed to be Horizon, whose real name is Dr. Mary Somers. Horizon reveals herself to the dedicated Apex players who complete her “wee experiment” of in-game challenges. The gravity-defying legend will join the fight in Season 7, which is set to begin on November 10th.

The new legend’s silhouette was revealed earlier this week in the Apex Legends Champion Edition trailer. While we didn’t get much from that, it did narrow down the options of potential future legends. Shortly after that reveal, Horizon’s challenges were made available in the game’s firing range. A mysterious message later popped up on the lobby screen, urging players to “meet at the firing range.”

Once in the firing range, players will find a locked loot bin and a TV monitor. Once you complete Horizon’s challenges available through the monitor, the Scottish scholar will introduce herself. She also comes with a friend, a little robot sidekick named Newt. “Some call me Dr. Mary Somers, but you can call me Horizon. See ya real soon, darlins.”

There is currently very little information available on what Horizon’s abilities will be. Apex data miner Shrugtal shared some speculation on what her kit might entail, which mostly included gravity-manipulating abilities.

Shrugtal lists her passive ability as Soft Landing, which may give players a small buff on landing while avoiding a stun from falling. Repulsor, her potential tactical ability, could send nearby players soaring. A potential ultimate is called Black Hole, which, according to Shrugtal, “sucks in and damages nearby enemies.”

None of these abilities have been confirmed for Horizon, though the gravity-defying theme would fall in line with some previous teasers. Horizon gives you a Gravity Lift Keycard during the firing range challenges, and requires you to deal 10 damage in mid-air. Horizon’s official ability kit may not be revealed until she launches in-game, at the start of Season 7.

The last legend to join the Apex Legends roster was Season 6’s Rampart, a bubble-blowing weapon modder with an impressive minigun. Horizon is expected to join the lineup on November 10th, at the start of Season 7.
