Season 9 of Apex Legends has brought new events, a new legend, and an old friend in the form of the World's Edge map. In Season 9 there are currently two maps in rotation for the Battle Royale mode.

Olympus, the floating city, is the first map that has been playable since the new season launch. World's Edge, which hasn't been seen for a while, has also recently been added. In both maps, there are a lot of areas for you to raid for loot. However, there are some areas that can spawn more and better loot than others. It is important to remember, though, that the loot spawns can be different in each round.

10 Hydroponics - Olympus

Apex Legends Hydroponics Olympus Map

Hydroponics is an area in the Olympus map that consists of a lot of small buildings placed very close together. Within these buildings, there tends to be a lot of ground loot (weapons and equipment that can be found laying loosely on the floor) that is often middle-tier or high-tier. Also, there are loot bins hidden inside of these buildings that typically hold powerful weapons.

Outside the buildings offer a ton of loot that is middle- or high-tier. There are a lot of loot bins that are close together near the center of the area. However, the proximity of the buildings can make it easy for other teams to ambush you. Additionally, the Elysium overlooks this area, so it can be very easy for other players to snipe your team from there.

9 Harvester - World's Edge

Apex Legends Worlds Edge Map Season 9 Harvester

The Harvester in World's Edge is at the head of a huge lava fissure that splits part of the map. The loot that can be found when dropping into this area is typically mid-tier — so blue and purple shields as well as a few hop-ups. It's more common to find high-tier scattered ground loot here than to find them in the loot bins. There are plenty of loot bins in the area though, especially at the center of the Harvester, but they typically carry lower-tier loot.

The biggest downside to this area is that there are a lot of tunnels other players can use like rabbit holes to disappear, which can make your team more vulnerable to attacks. Tips for winning the new Arenas mode also apply to surviving the search for loot, and teamwork is everything.

8 Bonsai Plaza - Olympus

Bonsai Plaza Apex Legends Season 9 Map

Bonsai Plaza is an area filled with tall buildings so it is easy to spot from the dropship. Landing on the balcony area of one of the tall buildings will typically reward you with good loot and a variety of weapons. However, there have been times where drops to the area have found nothing. Within the building itself, there can be a lot of scattered ground loot for you to find, but you're more likely to find the good stuff in the tunnels.

There are tunnels that branch off of the balcony to a lower area. This area is commonly filled with middle-tier or high-tier loot. However, you should be careful as there are only a few ways in and out, so other teams can set up an ambush at the top.

7 Fragment East And West - World's Edge

Fragment East and Fragment West were actually a whole city once but they are now split into two pieces by a lava fissure. The area has a lot of tall buildings within it and even a train station. The vast amount of areas within the city mean that there are a lot of places to find loot. The tiers of the loot can vary drastically which makes it an interesting drop.

The bridge over the lava that connects the two parts of the city has an upper and lower area. The upper area has a couple of loot bins but if you want to find the best loot then you should go through the lower area. This can spawn gold-tier loot alongside high-tier items such as Phoenix kits however other teams can trap you in there and take you down.

6 Carrier - Olympus

Apex Legends Season 9 Purple Loot Shield Carrier Spitfire

Carrier can be a popular drop spot in Olympus and it's not hard to see why. This area commonly spawns high-tier loot and very powerful weaponry alongside desirable items. Purple and gold loot is quite often found here among the loot bins or simply laying on the ground.

There are lots of places where the loot is scattered around on the ground, so it is worth looking at making your FOV settings better so you can see more of the area. There are loot bins at the front of the ship and below it that often carry quite good items. The biggest downside for this area is its popularity — a lot of players drop here in many matches and there are many hiding places.

5 The Tree - World's Edge

Apex Legends Season 9 Worlds Edge Tree Sky View

The whole area surrounding the Tree (does anyone else see a gigantic leaf?) is almost always filled with middle-tier and high-tier loot. From golden backpacks that hold a lot of items to enough purple shields for your entire team, the area can be a goldmine for good loot.

As many players of the game already know, getting good loot can mean the difference between winning and losing. The area directly below the Tree, which resembles a metal platform, has a few loot bins that spawn good loot, but the buildings in the area can also spawn excellent loot too.

4 Icarus - Olympus

Apex Legends Season 9 Icarus Olympus Map

Icarus is a lot like the Carrier area in Olympus as it is a ship that has a lot of areas to explore. However, at Icarus, there is far less loot to find — but it is typically higher-tier loot or powerful weapons. There is far less scattered loot to be found laying on the ground but there are a lot of loot bins. The bins in the area are commonly found in pairs or trios and they can spawn very high-tier loot, like golden helmets.

The downside to Icarus is the fact that the loot is not as abundant. If another team has beaten you there and found the loot, you better high-tail it out of there because there are a ton of spots that they can ambush you from.

3 Blue Circles - Both Maps

Apex Legends Season 9 Worlds Edge Map Blue Circle

When you are getting ready to drop into the map at the beginning of a round, you can open up your map and you will see a blue circle over a certain area. The area will change each round. The blue circle will match a blue beam of light that can be seen from the dropship — this pinpoints an area that will have good loot.

You are not the only one who is able to see it, though. This means the area around the blue indicator will be a very popular drop zone, so when you drop, be prepared to fight. Even in the World's Edge Ranked Mode, dropping in a busy area can be either a bad or a brilliant idea.

2 The Rift - Olympus

Apex Legends Olympus Map Rift Drop Zone

The Rift in Olympus is hard to miss from the drop-ship as it is a large dome of energy. The area is quite substantial compared to other places on the map. It is a popular drop zone for many players on this map, and as a result, it can sometimes be chaotic when you're there.

However, the chaos is worth it because there are a lot of buildings in the area that hold a lot of loot. It may not always be high-tier loot but the sheer abundance of it makes it a brilliant place to drop. Aiming for the buildings will give you a higher chance of success in finding good loot.

1 The Vaults -  World's Edge

Apex Legends Worlds Edge Vault Inside High Tier Loot

In the World's Edge map, there are Cargo Bots that float past in the sky that you can shoot down to get loot. The important bit is that the Bots can drop something called a Vault Key. Vaults are only accessible by obtaining a Vault Key, and once you have the key, their locations will show up on your map.

If you head to a Vault with a Key and it hasn't been opened, you will be greeted with golden goodness. The highest tiers of loot are always inside of the Vaults, and there is enough to go around the team. Unlike other loot spawns, Vaults are guaranteed to have high-tier loot inside of them.
