The company behind Apex Legends, Respawn Entertainment, just released the latest trailer for the game. Continuing the series of shorts called Stories from the Outlands, the latest entry in the series, Family Business, details how the character Lifeline went from being a rebellious teenager to becoming a fearsome combat medic.

“As a member of the Frontier Corps, Ajay Che has always tried to set herself apart from her infamous family of war profiteers,” the official description reads. “But to help those in need, sometimes lines must be crossed.” In the latest trailer, fans of the franchise can “watch her team up with a childhood friend Octavio Silva, also known as Octane, to find a new batch of meds and do whatever it takes to save the day.”

Previous shorts in the Stories from the Outlands series focused on the characters Wraith, Bloodhound, Rampart, and more. Respawn Entertainment has been producing the trailers for several years now.

This comes in the wake of news that players have been avoiding Lifeline, causing usage of the character to fall by nearly 20 percent. Respawn Entertainment on the other hand is far from concerned. “There may be things that we want to develop in the future, but at the moment, we're not seeing a huge need for it and we will be addressing any concerns with Lifeline as we explore and prototype and get those into players’ hands in our internal development play testing sessions,” Senior Game Designer Devan McGuire said.

Apex Legends is described as a “free-to-play hero shooter game where legendary characters battle for glory, fame, and fortune on the fringes of the Frontier.” The game was released for PS4, Xbox One, and PC on February 4, 2019 before being ported to Switch on March 9, 2021 and then finally to PS5 and Xbox Series X|S on March 29, 2022. Each iteration has been well received by critics and players alike.
