Apple's next product in the iPad Pro lineup is reportedly suffering from production issues related to its high-tech, Mini LED display. Apparently, its overseas supplier hit a snag in manufacturing, causing massive delays and reduced output.

Not only is output lagging behind expectations, but one manufacturer has supposedly halted Mini LED production entirely as it tries to solve the problem. Apple is expected to announce the new iPad Pro lineup this month, although the tech giant is yet to make anything official.

According to Bloomberg's sources, Apple is still planning to reveal iPad Pro products this month – one of which is a 12.9-inch model that features the expensive Mini LED screen. The other model won't include the fancy tech, so we may see a staggered release, with a cheaper version arriving well ahead of its Mini LED counterpart.

Component shortages are nothing new to the tech world – and are becoming increasingly common in 2021. Last year we saw the start of a massive semiconductor shortage, resulting in the low supply of PS5 and Xbox Series X|S consoles. Production is expected to ramp up this summer, although little news has been made public over the last few weeks.

For now, Apple fans will simply have to wait for an official iPad Pro reveal. Even if the new products are shown off this month, it sounds as if the enticing Mini LED version won't be available for quite some time.
