Ubisoft’s Shortcut To Assassin’s Creed Odyssey DLC Has A Catch - Your Progression Won’t Carry Over

Ubisoft has announced that The Fate of Atlantis DLC for Assassin’s Creed Odyssey will be accessible via a useful shortcut, allowing players to bypass some of the pre-requisites. However, it comes with a cost. Anyone using it won’t be able to carry their character progression back over into the main game or gain any achievements.

The first episode of Story Arc 2 – The Fate of Atlantis has been dubbed Fields of Elysium and will be released on April 23.

The official blurb states: "As the story of Fields of Elysium unfolds, players will traverse the paradise of Elysium, a realm of great beauty, to reveal sinister secrets while facing against the might of the Isu. Players will encounter both new factions and familiar characters, and acquire new legendary weapons and gear."

The Fate of Atlantis will also add new ability enhancements, with several being introduced with each episode. These will be divided into each branch of the skill tree. The first enhancements introduced in Fields of Elysium will be Ares Bull Charge, Might of Artemis, Kronos Time Warp, and Ares Madness.

With regards to the main content, there are set to be two ways to access and play the new storylines. The first involves completing the mythological main game story arc, Between Two Worlds, and the Lost Tales of Greece questline, Heir of Memories, which follows. You also need to reach character level 28 or above. However, Ubisoft has added in a shortcut, which halves the process.

This shortcut will allow you to enter Greece at level 52 with a set of preset abilities and resources. You’ll be able to choose your hero and jump straight into the Lost Tales of Greece questline, Heir of Memories, eliminating the requirement to play through the Between Two Worlds chain in order to unlock it.

Players who choose to use the shortcut can play through and enjoy the new DLC story arc and quests, but their progress will not carry over into the main game. They will also be unable to gain achievements in the new content. The only way to have progress carried over into your main game is to complete both quest chains.

The Fate of Atlantis is due to be released on April 23 and will be followed by the second episode, Torment of Hades, and the third, Judgement of Atlantis, later this year. The three episodes will combine to complete the second story arc.
