It seems like Assassin's Creed Valhalla was released just yesterday, but Ubisoft is already onto the next project as they work toward the release of the next game in the franchise. Assassin's Creed has been around for years, and the company shows no signs of stopping, especially since some new rumors have surfaced about the upcoming games. No one knows for sure how much truth these hold, but it gives players insight into what the future could bring.

The expansion of the story has taken players on a journey through several civilizations, but there is so much more for them to expand upon. Whether you are ready for the next game or just want to know what's coming, these leaked rumors about Assassin's Creed may fill that hole.

10 The Next Game Could Be Set In 17th Century India

17th Century India

One possibility for the next game in the franchise could be 17th Century India, according to a 4chan Ubisoft insider, and it would take place on a giant map. You would be able to explore all of India, as well as Bangladesh and Pakistan, although it is an unpopular Reddit opinion that this rumor is true.

However, one change would be that it is a female-only protagonist and players would not be able to choose the gender of the character. The rumor also states that Ubisoft has other plans to do another game in the middle east.

9 Will Have Three Factions And A Bounty System

Assassin's Creed India leaked map and Odyssey's bounty system

This India game would also have three factions called the Mughal Empire, British East India Company, and Dutch East India Company. They would split the map into different sections, according to the map that the 4chan user released, which would surely contain some beautiful areas.

It would also implement a bounty system, but it would be different from past gameplay as your bounty would only remain for the region you are in. Some players might also be disappointed as there are no plans to include naval warfare, but this means that more focus will be put on other aspects of the gameplay.

8 Rumors Of A Game Set In France Coming Early 2022

Siege of Paris in Assassin's Creed Valhalla

The second game that is rumored to be next on the list, instead of India, will be set in Lorraine, France during the Hundred Years War. A 4chan user revealed this detail and it makes the most sense that this would be the next game.

There was a previous survey from Ubisoft asking players what games they would like to play and it included Joan of Arc in the Hundred Years War with the Black Plague. The settings for Odyssey and Valhalla were also listed, but the Paris DLC for Valhalla also points toward France making the most sense.

7 Parkour Overhaul

Parkour and Siege in Assassin's Creed

One aspect of the 4chan user's claim that didn't really make sense was that there would be an overhaul on the parkour mechanics. This would include things like sieges, stealth, and freerun, but it just doesn't add up.

This is rumored to be a budget title, with a small file size, which basically means a smaller-scale game while they create the next big game in the series. It doesn't seem logical to put an overhaul of the parkour system on a smaller team of game designers and leave it to them to change the mechanics of future games.

6 Possible Game Names Of Champion And Tournament

Joan of Arc and Medieval Knights

There are two possible names for the game out right now, and no one knows which one is just a codename and which one might be its actual name. The two names are Champion and Tournament, and both make sense in regard to the gameplay. You will play as a knight and tournament champion, hence the connection to the two names.

5 Alchemy Will Play A Part

Nicholas Flamel and Alchemy

While it will involve knights and large-scale battles at castles, it will also include alchemy. There will be a focus on Nicholas Flamel, a French alchemist, and you will be able to craft potions to help you in your gameplay which will be a change in the series.

They also plan to connect it back to Valhalla as you will play as Basim in modern-day times and the Isu will be very present in current events.

4 Japan Is Another Possibility For 2022

Tokugawa Shogunate Japan

One of the more unlikely theories, but still a very real possibility, is that Japan could be the focus of the next game in the franchise. A 4chan user even revealed its possible name or codename of Assassin's Creed Warriors.

It would be set in the period of 1600 to 1868, one of the greatest historical periods, which was known as the Tokugawa Shogunate, when Japan had a feudal military government. You would be able to explore former Tokyo, which was called Edo, and play as a female protagonist named Akako Shiratori.

3 Features Japanese Mythology And Assassin Recruitment

Oni and Yokai from Japanese Myth and the Black Shuck from Assassin's Creed Valhalla

This game would have a tie to Japanese mythology as you would battle creatures from their stories. Two of the possibilities include Oni and Yokai, and this connects to the trend followed in Valhalla, with some of the legendary animals, and Odyssey.

You would also be able to recruit other assassins to your cause. This system would be similar to the Jomsvikings in Valhalla, but players would hope that they would be able to expand further on this.

2 The Chinese Yuan Dynasty Might Be Coming In 2023

Assassin's Creed China leaked concept art

Once the next game comes out in 2022, it seems pretty set in stone based on the concept art that was revealed back in 2017. It makes sense as Valhalla was revealed in the same way with concept art being released before players knew anything else about the game.

The game would take place in the Yuan Dynasty, which was the first foreign-led dynasty in China's history.

1 It Would Focus On The Mongols And Kublai Khan

Mongols in China

The Mongols and their leader named Kublai Khan would be the focus of this game. It will be interesting to see if they incorporate their fall as historically the lands fell into rebellion and famine took over the region.

This setting would allow them to build upon their current story and would make for a great bigger game following the French budget installment, even though it would veer away from the fans' desire to play in a small city.
