Flails are one of the best weapons in Assassin's Creed Valhalla because of how much joy they bring to players. Eivor basically whips it around and deals a ton of damage to opponents in a fun and chaotic way. No other weapon really compares, and the damage it deals makes it worth it to use throughout the game. However, make sure to be careful in heavily populated areas as it has a knack for accidentally killing too many citizens and causing desynchronization.

There are five one-handed flails in the game and they range from fine to mythical, but they can always be upgraded. One thing to keep in mind is that their stats will depend upon your skill tree and what masteries you have unlocked, so your flail could be better or worse based on what you chose to unlock!

Updated on July 17, 2021 by Rebecca O'Neill: There are not too many flails in Assassin's Creed Valhalla for players to use, and the new DLC called Wrath of the Druids was also a letdown in this department. While it added plenty of new weapons for you to use across Ireland, a flail was not one of them. However, there is still one new flail that has been added to the game, but it must be purchased.

You must use your opals or buy some Helix Credits in order to make this purchase, and it is well worth the cost. You won't be disappointed when you are swinging this new weapon around your head like a maniac.

Sinner's Skull

The Sinner's Skull Flail is by far the strongest of them all, and it starts as a mythical weapon which makes it even better. You can purchase this in the store for 350 Helix Credits, or you can test your luck and see if you can find it in Reda's Shop.

It also has a perk that increases your attack every time your health is restored, and it stacks up to four times. This weapon is great for when you have your rations fully upgraded, but otherwise, it might not be worth the purchase for the perk alone. However, it is still good enough to have you putting away your best spear for good.

Iron Star Flail

assassin's creed valhalla iron star flail

This is the first flail that most players come across as it can be found in Rygjafylke, Norway by exploring Kjotve's Fortress. The gear is unlocked during the quest called A Cruel Destiny and this weapon can be found in a house near the back of the fortress.

It is an A-frame house that sits all by itself with an arch and a set of stairs in the front to help you identify it. Nothing special is required to unlock the chest as the door is open and there are no locks for which a key has to be collected.

The stats of this flail are not the greatest, but for an early-game weapon, it's fairly decent. Players love its perk of increasing Eivor's attack after completing a heavy finisher as it helps them when they are lacking in their power level and unlocked skills. You might consider using this Fine Flail until you are able to unlock something better, but upgrading it is always an option so you can add some helpful runes.

Spinning-Death

A trip to Jorvik, England will uncover the location of this flail and it can be found in the southern portion of this area. It is kept within the Trade Depot and this is a heavily guarded and restricted area, so be wary of the countless guards in the vicinity and equip your best armor, and you should consider these sets.

There are openings in the roof from which you can shoot them to thin the herd before jumping into the fray, so make sure to stock up on arrows. Many are able to collect this well before the required power level because of the way you can take out the guards with a bow.

This is a Superior Flail so its stats are decent at the start with impressive attack and stun stats that will help you fight legendary animals. It also comes with a perk that indicates a heavy finisher gives you a chance to drop a Fire Bomb, but be wary about where you use this weapon. The Fire Bomb can often hurt more than help you when exploring civilian-heavy areas.

Hag's Bite

assassin's creed valhalla hag's bite

The Hag's Bite is a mythical flail and it can only be bought at Reda's Shop for 120 opals or in the Ubisoft store, but it is well worth it. This weapon is already fully upgraded so its damage rates can really be of assistance early on in the game.

You might have to take on a few contracts and complete a couple of side quests before you manage to collect enough opals to buy this weapon, even if it's not the best in the game. However, the items in the shop do rotate so it's possible you will have to wait a few weeks for this to appear again if you desire to have it.

The perk this weapon offers is that a heavy hit on a fallen enemy will poison them, so one hit could finish them off. The passive effects of the poison will eat away the remainder of their health so you can turn your focus to the other foes headed your way.

Soldier's Flail

assassin's creed valhalla soldier's flail

The Soldier's Flail cannot be found until closer to the end of the game as it is located in Hamtunscire, a region that is Level 340. It is found in Chepeham, which can be discovered by heading southwest from the middle of this region.

There is a longhouse here that you will need to enter and the chest can be acquired by heading up into the rafters. You will need to head to the end of the building with the locked door where you can climb through an opening and drop down into the room. The chest can be looted and you will walk away with a brand new weapon that will work wonders in combat.

The perk that this Flawless Flail offers is that it will increase your speed when at full health, which can be useful especially if you are holding a dagger or hammer in your other hand. You will cut down your enemies with insane speed all while swinging this crazy flail around your head.
