Assassin's Creed Valhalla is brimming with things to do; from immersive quests to intense raids. This extends to the DLC, Wrath of the Druids. A similarity to the core content is the new Order of the Ancient subset; a Druid cult called The Children of Danu.

While many of these Order members can be slain without breaking much of a sweat, they aren't always easy to locate. Thus, we've created this guide as a roadmap. It will highlight the details and locations of the Children of Danu as well as their clues.

About The Children Of Danu Quest

AC Valhalla Children of Danu cutscene galloping in the distance with Children of Danu totem

You'll automatically have the Children of Danu menu — and eventually, information as well as locations — available once the Potion of Blood quest is initiated. This is after the halfway point of the Wrath of the Druids campaign, following the Foothold in Connacht quest. So you'll need to be well into the campaign before attempting to complete this.

Once Potion of Blood is initiated, you'll be able to speak with Deirdre, who you'll need to complete the Children of Danu quest.

All ten of these Children are part of the quest called Children of Danu. All Children will drop an Amber Shard after slaying them, which Eivor will need to hand in to Deirdre in Asfinn, in the Connacht region. Upon killing the final member and turning in the shards, you'll get the Dawn of the Druids achievement or trophy, as well as a Mythical Electric Spear, the Gae Bolg.

At least for the non-quest members, assassinating the Children of Danu can be done in any order, though often you will get clues for another Order member upon killing one.

Children Of Danu As Part Of Quests

AC Valhalla Children of Danu The Cursed cutscene

In addition to Order members that are integrated into the main quests of Wrath of the Druids, the majority of the Children of Danu can be found scattered about Ireland separate from quests. This means you'll have to personally seek them out on your own, either by collecting clues, or by finding them directly.

But the first four Children listed here (along with some of their clues) are intertwined in various quests. Most cannot be met until reaching certain points during the campaign.

Clues offer leads to the location of the Order members, which, after getting them all (usually two or three) for each member, will bring up their location. These Clues aren't necessary to get, as you can also find them directly by reading this guide. However, for the sake of detail, we will also include the location for each clue, should you prefer to pinpoint the exact location via waypoints.

Getting clues for waypoints can be useful, as some of these Children will be on the move and won't rest in a single spot. As is the case with the Children of Danu members themselves, some of these clues can be found as part of quests, while some are hidden throughout the map independently.

The Wren - Niamh The Poet

  • To obtain the first clue leading to The Wren's location, you'll simply need to play through the main questline Potion Of Blood. This is triggered upon unlocking the Children of Danu Order menu. From there, you can either skip to the location of this Order member by reading on, or you can draw up the location on the map directly by obtaining the second clue.
  • To find the second clue, head to an area to the northwest of the Connacht region. The clue will be inside a desolate hut that's on the beach, just to the north of the Port Auley trade post.
  • The third clue resides in the northern portion of Connacht, roughly in the middle of the Lough Gara lake; a small body of water in the area. There is a fairly tall ritual stone with a circular engraving, along with some crates and torches.

Gallery images show the locations of the notes and Children in the order they are listed (left to right). Does not show clue locations as part of quests or killing other Order members.

Now to meet The Wren herself. As with any of the Order members when all clues are found, you can now set a waypoint and track her using the Children of Danu menu. Or you can head directly to her, use Odin's Sight, and it should pull up her location if you are close. She is roughly at the center of Connacht, roaming in the town of Rathcroghan.

The Cursed - Setnae, Druid Of The Mists

AC Valhalla Children of Danu The Cursed, druid of the mists
  • The first clue is rather simple in this case, as it's obtained automatically by slaying The Wren.
  • This is the same with the second clue, which is granted after finishing the main quest Potion of Blood. At one point in this quest, you must unlock a cottage and obtain a key as well as a note with details leading to the next clue.
  • The third clue will similarly be a part of a main quest; Into the Fog. You'll need to find a man confined to a prison inside a cave nearby and free him.
  • There is also a rare fourth clue here, but it's fairly easy to get. It's automatically obtained during the Into the Fog main quest, specifically at the ritual site of The Cursed.

When concluding Into the Fog, a cutscene will initiate and The Cursed can then be killed. Basically, as long as you follow the two main questlines mentioned, you should have no trouble locating this Order member.

The Seed - Becc Mac Nath-i, He Of The Oceans

AC Valhalla Children of Danu The Seed, Becc mac Nath i, he of the oceans information menu
  • Getting the first clue to locate The Seed is required when playing through the main quest The Wages of War, as is the assassination of Becc mac Nath-i himself.
  • The second clue is found in the Ulster region in the eastern part, specifically in an area called Movilla Abbey. There will be a church perched atop a hill. Head inside the church, where the clue will be waiting on a bench near the wealth chest.
  • The third clue is granted automatically upon slaying The Deer. Keep in mind, this Order member exists outside any quests, so you'll need to seek him out separately. As we mention in his entry, he resides at Ulster Lake.

The Seed can be found in the northern peninsulas of Ulster — the small one slightly to the east in the region). He is in the Dunseverick Fortress which rests in the port of Inch Lough Neagh. He is typically residing in the main building in this area. You may want to be stealthy here, and pick off his henchmen before taking on The Seed himself.

The Oak - Oegan Mac Cartaigh

  • To obtain the first clue leading to The Oak's location, you'll need to first slay The Cursed.
  • The second clue is obtained upon killing The Seed.

All that remains after beating these two Order members is to progress deep into the campaign of Wrath of the Druids. You must play through the main quest A Scourging of Snakes, which is the second-to-last quest in Wrath of the Druids.

He serves as the main boss and leader of the Children, residing in the Armagh Fortress in Ulster. Keep in the mind, you won't be able to seek him out and kill him until reaching this part in the quest.

Children Of Danu - Separate From Quests

The following are the remaining Children which are located in different parts of Ireland and can be assassinated at any time after finishing the Potion of Blood quest. It's a good idea to deal with the four Order members listed earlier first, as they're intertwined with the campaign. Then seek out these Order members, either late in the main quest, or after finishing it.

The Deer - Ruaidri, He Of The Ports

AC Valhalla Children of Danu The Deer Ruaidri, he of the ports menu information
  • To obtain the first clue, you'll need to assassinate The Cursed. The clue will drop after slaying him, pointing you toward this Order member.
  • The second clue is in the northeastern part of Ulster, specifically at the Armdel Trade Post. If you venture just a bit southeast of this post, you'll find it near a small bridge over a creek.

As for The Deer himself, he resides along the northern shoreline of Ulster Lake within the port of Inch Lough Neagh. Typically, he is found inside the enemy encampments there. Killing this Order member will also unveil information about The Seed as well as The Spider.

The Spider - Aideen, Merchant Of Dublin

AC Valhalla Children of Danu The Spider, Aideen, merchant of Dublin menu information
  • To obtain the first clue leading to The Spider, you'll need to have killed The Deer.
  • The second clue is rather unique in that you'll need to be victorious in the drinking game in Dublin. Your bet doesn't matter; you'll just need to win. Just look for the white horn marker and begin the game.
  • The third clue can be found within Dublin, specifically at Skald's Rest right by the "tallest tree" in the town, in the northeast corner.

The clues are a good idea in this case, as The Spider wanders around the crowded Dublin market quite a bit. But usually, she can be found at the small shop with the animal skins, or next to the small blue tent.

You could also climb to a high vantage point in town and use Odin's Sight to aid in pinpointing her location. This is also indicated by the enemy marker which shows her health bar when pointing a bow at her. She will be shown to actually be Aldeen the merchant.

The Ash - Cummascach

AC Valhalla Children of Danu The Ash Cummascach menu information
  • To obtain the first clue leading to The Ash, you'll need to have killed The Wren.
  • The second clue is a bit trickier to spot. Head to the Connacht region, specifically in the southern area right between two lakes; Lough Rea and Lough Tuam. It is perched atop a small hill that holds a ritual site.

The Ash herself is in the Kesh Corann mines, which hold other enemies you'll need to pick off or evade to reach her. Specifically, these mines are in Connacht's Lough Gara, within a mountain range cradling the northwest side.

There will be a breakable wall that doubles as the cave's entrance. Throw a torch into it to burn it down. Farther into the cave will be a smattering of crates. Smash them up, and head through the crack, where you'll find The Ash and a poison-wielding fighter along her side. You can also find Druidic Breeches in this area.

The Whisper - Leasleach, Madwoman Of The Bogs

AC Valhalla Children of Danu The Whisper, Leasleach, madwoman of the bogs menu information
  • To obtain the first clue leading to The Whisper, you'll need to first kill The Spider.
  • To find the second clue, go to the northeast area of the Meath region. She can be found at an enemy encampment atop the Boyne Tombs, near some large crates.
  • The third clue is within the northern part of the Meath region. Follow the Boyne River on the southern side, roughly 300 yards south of Kells Abbey, where the river bends to the east. Here, there is a ritual site and a table that holds the clue.

The Whisper can be a bit tough to find if you haven't marked her location, as she roams a murky bog in the middle of Meath. However, you can continue using Odin's Sight, or wait for her to walk the main road that cuts through this area. A good place to start (if you don't have all the clues) is to triangulate a spot at the bog between Annagh Doo and Inchroe.

The Blaze - Conlae, He Of The Flames

AC Valhalla Children of Danu The Blaze, Conlae, he of the Flames menu information
  • To obtain the first clue leading to The Blaze, you'll need to kill The Ash.
  • To find the second clue, go to the southeast part of the Ulster region. A ways east of Armagh just past the Bann River, you'll find a desolate location called Bally na Gall, where a large waterfall resides. The clue will be at a gravesite near this waterfall.
  • The third clue resides in the southern-central area of Ulster. There is a dilapidated town to the south of Clogher. Go there, and seek out a burned house that's tagged with a Wealth marker (specifically a small Wealth chest).

The Blaze himself should be walking on the road fairly close to where you picked up the third clue. He is usually found several dozen yards to the east of this area. Yet some have reported that he pops up just outside the burned house when picking up the third clue. If this doesn't occur — keep combing the road, using Odin's Sight and track his location via the Order menu.

The Mist - Trian, He Of The Stone Circles

AC Valhalla Children of Danu The Mist, Trian, he of the stone circles menu information
  • You'll get the first clue upon killing The Blaze.
  • For the second clue, head to the north-central area of Ulster. There is a location called Doon Daven, which is a large stone circle just west of the Slaney River. At the dead center of this area, there will be the clue on top of an altar, just in front of an effigy.
    • Be prepared to fight other cultists as well as a wolf here.
  • The third clue is found in the northwest part of Ulster. There is a beach several dozen yards northwest of Alieach and Foyne Reservoir which holds the ruins of a boat. The clue rests along one of the jutting spiked walls there.

The Mist is found in the northwest corner of Ulster. Specifically, he resides on a small island named Doon Fort at the very edge of Ireland.
