Einherjar means "an army of one" in old Norse; a rather fitting description for the solid and quite capable set of armor bearing that name in Assassin's Creed Valhalla. Norse mythology speaks of Einherjar warriors who have died in battle and are sent to Valhalla by the valkyries. Ideally, when laced with this armor set, Eivor's trips to the afterlife of Valhalla will be few and far between.

This is a legendary armor set that increases your attack once you have killed three opponents and adds a boost to your health bar after them as well. The Einherjar Armor Set is among the best armor that can be had in Assassin's Creed Valhalla, especially when getting the aforementioned perk that kicks in once you equip all five pieces.

When you first lay eyes on the Einherjar Armor Set in Assassin's Creed Valhalla, you will instantly want it for yourself. Players often wonder how they can get access to it, in addition to its stats and perks.

This guide will provide an overview of the set in its entirety; including how to obtain it, along with its various attributes. One thing to keep in mind is that your stats will differ depending upon how you chose to spend your skill points, along with upgrades and the other customizations offered in the game.

Updated August 24, 2021, by Stephen LaGioia: This Viking epic continues to captive players with its rich gameplay, exciting combat, and its ever-expanding content which now includes ventures to Ireland and Paris. Ubisoft has also kept players coming back for more action and adventures with its inclusion of new weapons and gear to play around with. One such added exclusive is the tantalizing Einherjar Armor Set; which remains popular for its abilities in offense and survivability.

These traits are more crucial than ever with the added DLC content, and the even more grueling gameplay that often comes with it by way of the new Heavy Cavalry and other tough foes. With this in mind, it seemed like a good idea to revisit and refresh this guide.

How Do You Get It?

Einherjar armor set in Assassin's Creed Valhalla

The Einherjar Armor Set can only be purchased using real money, but you might be lucky and find a piece or two from the pack in Reda's Shop. It is one of the best armor sets in Assassin's Creed Valhalla, so it is worth keeping an eye out for it.

Thor's Armor Set is comparable, but this set still rises above it despite it being a microtransaction. Players also adore this armor for its design, as the light fur combined with the dark green of the fabric is incredible if you are simply looking to make a fashion statement.

You can buy either just the armor for 500 Helix Credits or the entire pack with weapons and animal skins for 1,500 Helix Credits in the Animus Store. This will cost you either $5 or $20 and your decision will depend on whether you choose to go more minimal with the core armor pack—or want all of the Einherjar-themed accouterments (minus the bow, which will be touched on later).

What Is Included In The Pack?

Purchasing the pack brings a number of other cosmetic items outside of the armor itself, along with a potent weapon and shield.

The included items are as follows:

  • Einherjar Helm
  • Einherjar Hood
  • Einherjar Armor
  • Einherjar Bracers
  • Einherjar Pants
  • Svadilfari Mount Skin
  • Blood Eagle Raven Skin
  • Dwarven Axe
  • Helgi's Shield

This helm exudes an appearance of wealth and valor—thanks to its sleek, luxurious appearance. As mentioned in its in-game description, it also allows Eivor to maintain something of a poker face while wearing it, as it covers the vast majority of their face. This stoic look offered by the thick, face-obscuring armor gives it a rather intimidating vibe.

Complementing the glistening helm is this similarly luxurious-looking fur hood, which bulks up Eivor's form while looking rather fashionable to boot. It's perfect for that bitter cold Norwegian weather, but also ideal for enhancing Eivor's defensive prowess.

This tunic manages to convey a look that's appealing and ominous in one fell swoop. It showcases a warrior that's no stranger to battle, with its splatters of blood and generally worn appearance. Completing this armor set brings those useful added perks to go along with its awesome look.

Not only will it provide added attack power after each kill (stacking up to three times), but it also opens up two more rune slots. This elevates its potential even more, as players can augment this already great armor with some of the game's best runes.

These potent bracers certainly look cool and help complete that practiced warrior look, but they also serve a practical function when attacking in battle. The added weight offered by the steel fastened on Eivor's upper arms grants added momentum and strength when charging up a heavy attack, adding offensive boosts to this defensive gear.

It may be a bit of a stretch to describe these withered, bloodied boots as "elegant" as its in-game descriptions mentions. Still, they do strike a neat, intimidating look and complete Eivor's battle-tested warrior getup. They're ideal for those enemy-finishing stomps; which you'll likely be exploiting quite a bit in this game.

Svadilfari Mount Skin

Svadilifari Mount Skin in Assassin's Creed Valhalla

This mount skin is covered in blood, similar to the armor set, and decked out in black leather. It also has arrows sticking out of it to give the idea that you just came from a major battle as this set is in honor of you heading to Odin's Hall after death.

The skin isn't for everyone, but some players appreciate the aesthetic this majestic animal has to offer—especially given the fun mythology surrounding it involving the Norse goddess Freya.

Blood Eagle Raven Skin

Blood Eagle Skin in Assassin's Creed Valhalla

This skin was cleverly named in honor of a horrific Viking practice called the Blood Eagle, which Ivarr the Boneless performs in the game. It basically takes your raven and covers it in blood, giving the bird a decidedly ominous look when.

Blood and gore are the way of the Vikings, and for some, this apparently has to be extended by way of Eivor's sky-soaring bird companion.

Dwarven Axe

The perk of the Dwarven Axe is very helpful for players who choose to wield it, as it will increase your speed up to three times following enemy kills. This helps offset the axe's primary weakness and makes it a truly devastating weapon, as its other stats largely excel across the board.

While there are many other Dane axes to swing away with, this two-handed beast mostly blows them away in terms of attack and stun damage. A single hit or two could delete a target—especially when choosing to dual wield and coupling it with a spear or other powerful weapon.

Helgi's Shield

Helgi's Light Shield doesn't really sacrifice speed for damage, making it a tempting option even for those who don't usually favor these often-cumbersome items. It is the lightest of all the shields and also does the most attack damage.

Not only this, but it also increases your Heavy Damage when blocking—so make sure to practice your parry if you plan on using this as your primary weapon. Here is a guide to the other Light Shields in Assassin's Creed Valhalla. As that guide shows, there are plenty of other satisfying options when it comes to shields, though this beast makes them mostly pale in comparison.

Can You Buy It Without The Blood?

Einherjar tattoo set in Assassin's Creed Valhalla

You cannot buy this armor without the blood on it as it is supposed to show your prowess on the battlefield before you head off to fight in Ragnarok. It is something that often turns buyers away as they would prefer this outfit to shine with cleanliness rather than your opponent's blood.

If you do like the blood, there is also an Einherjar Tattoo Set you can purchase for 200 Helix Credits in the store, and it has one of the best face tattoos in the game.

What About The Einherjar Bow?

While it's not included in the purchasable pack, there also exists a hunter bow bearing the Einherjar brand, though as of this writing, it remains unavailable. Ubisoft had offered a time-limited challenge that provided this bow as a reward—known as the Egghead Community Challenge.

The challenge called upon the community to collectively notch a certain threshold of headshots to unlock the weapon. However, issues with the tracking and obtaining of the reward spurred a response by the studio to remove the challenge for the time being.

For the sake of reference though—and assuming the weapon will again return to the fold—here are some details regarding the Einherjar Bow:

Stats

Attack:

Stun:

Crit-Pre:

This is a great survivalist and stealth-oriented bow as it rewards players near full health by bumping up the already potent ranged damage. Couple this with above-average abilities in stunning and inflicting criticals—and this bow can really make an impact on multiple levels.
