There are several distinct armor sets to collect in Assassin's Creed Valhalla, but the ones you choose to seek out will depend upon your playstyle. For example, the Magister's Armor Set is great for players who love stealth and assassination attacks. It even comes with two perks when all pieces are equipped which include increased melee damage at night and an additional increase to ranged damage. This can help make Eivor a truly deadly assassin when creeping about under the cover of darkness.

If this offensive boost and night owl prowling sounds useful to your playstyle then you should seek out the pieces to this set—but where do you start? Fortunately, all of the Magister's Armor Set can be found in England, although it can be a bit of a fight to retrieve it. Keep in mind that the stats for you might be different based on what you have unlocked in your own skill tree!

Updated January 2, 2021 by Stephen LaGioia: Despite surpassing a year of age, Assassin's Creed Valhalla continues to fight and explore new terrain with its recent DLC releases and unique events like the Odyssey Crossover and River Raids. With the added content comes an array of cool new Mysteries, quests, and of course—potent gear.

The epic Seige of Paris alone brings several new weapons and armor into the fold, including the Paladin and Reaper Armor Sets. But in the meantime, you might want to lace yourself with the stealth-based Magister's Armor, which will aid Eivor in reaching and eclipsing these tough trials.

About The Magister's Armor

Assasin's Creed Valhalla Magister's Armor set complete in icy woodlands

First, an overview of the armor set as a whole:

This antiquated armor set dates back centuries, as it initially belonged to a Roman Hidden One Magister named Vitus. It was used within Roman-occupied Britain throughout the 5th century. But while the Roman Empire left Britain, this battle-tested armor set did not, and pieces were scattered about England, weathering the ravages of time and weather conditions for centuries.

The five pieces of this Raven-aligned armor are hidden throughout areas within Oxenefordscire and East Anglia. It can be tough to seek out each of the pieces, as they're not only scattered and hidden, but most are fairly well guarded. Players will need to be stealthy and ready to fight when obtaining each piece. However, it's worth the scavenger hunt and ensuing fights, as Magister's Armor is one of the best sets to use early in the game.

In fact, Eivor can secure this armor with a Power Level as low as 30 or 40 without too much of a struggle. Still, it's a good idea to know where to go and what to expect when gathering the Magister's Armor.

Magister's Cloak

  • Location: Serpent's Landing, East Anglia

The Magister's cloak is found on an island in East Anglia called Serpent's Landing, and it is located within an enemy camp. There is a chest underneath a makeshift tent behind some breakable wooden slats, but it requires a key in order to be opened.

Fortunately, the key is sitting out in the open on a table, but you have to avoid the various Viking warriors in order to reach it. The one to watch out for is a powerful foe called Skull-Crusher, as his speed can make him a formidable opponent. Once you can manage it, head over to the chest and unlock it to retrieve your armor.

Magister's Vambraces

  • Location: Buckingham, Oxenefordscire

The Magister's Vambraces are the easiest of all the pieces to collect as there is no one for Eivor to fight, as long as you don't attract unwanted attention in this distrust area. The chest is located within the church, but the door to enter is locked.

However, the key is right outside sitting on a bench just waiting for you to snatch it up. Once you unlock the door and enter, there will be a ladder held up in the air by a pully. Shoot the pully to release the ladder, then climb to the top and you will find the chest.

Magister's Trousers

Magister's Trousers in Assassin's Creed Valhalla
  • Location: Oxeneforda, Oxenefordscire

The chest is located within a tall tower in Oxeneforda, but you don't enter the building from the bottom to reach it. There is a small building beside the tower with a rope leading to one of its stained glass windows about halfway up.

Climb onto the roof of this building, shoot the stained glass window with your bow to break it, then run across the rope to enter. Once inside, look up at the ceiling and shoot out the breakable wood section of the floor above. You need to climb up the wall to the next platform, then peer through the sections of wood to shoot the pully holding up the light fixture.

This will make it fall and break whatever was blocking the movable object's path. You need to push the movable object forward and then pull it slightly to the left to create a path for you to enter. The chest with the Magister's Trousers can be found in the corner of the room and they are definitely something you want to retrieve before you beat the game.

Magister's Mask

  • Location: King's Bury, East Anglia

King's Bury in East Anglia is one of the memorable locations that you can raid with your crew, and you can use it to your advantage to retrieve the mask. You have to battle your way up the hill to the building at the top on the right-hand side.

You can enter through the open doorway, but then you will need the help of one of your raiding party members to force the door open. Once inside, there will be a few higher power enemies you must take out, but then the chest is sitting in the corner with the Magister's Mask.

Magister's Robes

Magister's Robes in Assassin's Creed Valhalla
  • Location: Leah Villa Garrison, Oxenefordscire

This place is crawling with Anglo-Saxon soldiers and it is pretty impossible to retrieve this chest without being noticed. The chest is located behind a breakable rock wall, which means that you need to make a big explosion to break it down.

The simplest method is to use the useful ability called the Incendiary Powder Trap, as you can use a single arrow to break down the wall. If you have yet to unlock this, then you need to find the explosive red pots, but they are also under guard and behind a locked door.

If you run straight past the building with the chest, then behind it to the left is the building with explosive red pots. You will need to climb up to the platform on its right, take out the archer, then pull the movable object to the left to access an open window into this building.

Drop down inside, shoot the lock off the door, and pick up your explosive red pot. Next, head back to the breakable rock wall on the other building and toss your pot at it to make it explode. The chest with the Magister's Robes is right inside but loot it quickly before the guards all come rushing in to kill you.

More On Magister's Amor Set Stat Boosts And Perks

As a side note: obtaining 2/5 pieces of this set will provide the increased melee damage at night boost, while you'll need to collect all 5/5 pieces of this armor to gain the additional increase to ranged damage.

Given that these pieces are spread throughout different regions, you may find it useful and convenient enough to stick with the (2/5) melee boost. However, players who favor bows and ranged combat will want to pick up all five.

Additionally: each armor piece is given 1 Rune Slot in its default form, while it has 3 Rune Slots when being upgraded to Mythical (10) status.
