As one of the lengthier installments in the series, beating Assassin's Creed Valhalla will necessarily be a momentous occasion. Even Assassin's Creed: Odyssey, which might have slightly more content, adjusted the enemies based on player level, so you could technically blaze through to the end somewhat quickly. Any notion of that kind of speed run is been axed (pun intended) by this Viking-themed saga.

Crossing the finish line doesn't mean the race is over. In fact, some of the biggest moments in the game have nothing to do with the main story arc, so for many who have already beaten the game, the fun is actually about to begin.

Updated March 23rd, 2021 by Hodey Johns: After a few months, the first DLC is on the horizon and some patches are adding content here and there. Additionally, the community has found several ways to keep the game fresh as they continue to find creative new things to do. As a result, entries have been added to reflect these discoveries and additions.

14 Find Excalibur

Some completionists judge if they've done 100% of the game's activities by looking at the map and making sure nothing is on it. In other Assassin's Creed games, this would have been an accurate measure.

But Assassin's Creed Valhalla is a different beast. After getting all of the Treasures of Britain, you can find the hidden location of Excalibur that isn't even marked. It's a solid weapon and it'll make your friends green with jealousy.

13 Transmog Your Gear

Gunnar is offering something new at his forge. If you have items that you love but don't like looking as though you just found a bunch of random gear, the transmog system is finally here to save the day.

As of this writing, it costs silver for each piece that is changed in appearance. For people who have beaten the game, that's probably not going to be a problem, but if you're short on coinage, farming money might be something to add to this list.

12 Complete Gear Sets

Most players will finish the game not having completed a single gear set because of how scattered they all are. Even finishing one requires guidance, luck, and a knack for hunting down the right units and treasure boxes.

However, consider keeping the game fresh by keeping around multiple gear sets. Different weapons are better for different enemies. By keeping a set around that synergizes with bows, axes, shields, etc., you'll be prepared for whatever the upcoming DLC can throw at you.

11 Farm Up Opals

There are hundreds of opals scattered all over England. Of course, the ever-changing store that Reda owns changes items daily and weekly. And the prices are often more than every opal in the entire game.

So gather all of these and then head back to Reda for daily missions that will yield pay in opals. In this way, you can eventually save up enough to buy a piece of lucrative gear that cannot be bought or found anywhere else in the game.

10 Max Out Your Level

Players of the previous games in the franchise will notice a ton of changes in Assassin's Creed Valhalla, but perhaps nothing is as notable as the barring of special moves behind a skill tree with a persistent fog of war over it.

It's very possible to uncover and select every skill of every tree, but it won't happen until you get to power level 340. There's a ton of ways to do this besides trying to kill everything that moves, remember that world events like the cairns and the rock formations yield a bonus skill point.

9 Find All Books Of Knowledge

Even a full skill tree won't unleash the true power of Eivor. Players who want to turn Eivor from a strong Viking into an overpowered behemoth will want to find and read every Book of Knowledge hidden in the game.

Remember that you might have every ability unlocked, but they can each be upgraded an additional time as well, so there is probably a book out there still calling your name. It's well worth it as the step between a first and second ability level is drastic.

8 Finish Upgrading The Settlement

There aren't enough raw materials in the natural world to upgrade the camp as high as it can go without completing raids and pledges. Even then, you might mistakenly believe that having every building constructed is as far as you can go.

This is another one of those secrets that pro players don't divulge to amateurs: The Cattle Farm, Grain Farm, and Fowl Farm can be upgraded several times. This is not just a vanity upgrade, each upgrade in the settlement improves the Morale Boost buff from feasting.

7 Collect The Remaining Wealth

The Viking Era of Assassin's Creed Valhalla is an inspiration to historians and will be inspiring gamers for a while, but it's hard to feel cool wearing a mix-and-match, ragtag set of gear that isn't coordinated to either look or perform well together.

If you really want to dazzle both in the stats and style department, you've got to collect all the wealth in the game. You'll get access to a full wardrobe of gear that matches and, at the same time, you'll be collecting ingots and metals that are vital up upgrading that same gear to the maximum level.

6 Make Your Own Theory

Heads up, spoilers incoming! If you have not yet completed this game or Assassin's Creed Odyssey, you're really going to want to skip this section and go to the next one. Making a valid conspiracy theory means knowing about the series even before starting Assassin's Creed Valhalla.

With Desmond back in the picture and Layla on board, they've got a significant problem with Loki. It's anybody's guess as to what exactly is going on and how this will be resolved. Who are the good guys and who are the bad guys? Remember, you can't say "I told you so," if you never tell anyone so.

5 Read The Codex

If you're going to hazard a guess about what the end of the game means for the characters going forward, you are only going to have a rough idea until you read the Codex entries. Those scrolls and papers aren't just for decoration!

The lore behind Assassin's Creed, whether inside or outside of the Animus, is quite rich, and players who only play the game and don't read the notes won't fully understand the world they've played through without them. It really makes those little details in the trailer and the game come to life.

4 Hunt Down The Order

Getting answers in the Assassin's Creed universe will entail meeting, learning from, and killing your enemies. Players that beat the game will confront a handful of these crucial characters on the way, but not all of them, leaving you with an impartial view of what The Order of the Ancients is up to.

For the full picture, track down and gather clues for the Templars and Zealots who have Eivor in their sights. Each one has the potential to be a boss fight, so you'll need a sharp mind and a sharper axe, but each one, after defeating them, has a delicious cutscene where they reveal their secrets.

3 Complete The World Events

Side quests are technically removed from the game, but still effectively exist in the form of world events. These blue dots on the map indicate to you that Eivor can meet and help (or hurt) the various citizens of the world by accomplishing something there. At the very least, they will reward you with some experience points.

Completing all of them is a tall task, but some of them are memorable and arguably more enriching than the main story itself. Whether it's comedy, intrigue, or just trying to max out your character, world events are some of the more pleasant checklists to fill out.

2 Prepare For The DLC

Assassins Creed Valhalla Post Launch Roadmap DLC

Preparing for the DLC is not some kind of strange mental advice, there are actually some physical things you can do in the game to prepare. Remember that, at least in the past, the downloadable content has involved the same protagonist from the same save file.

This means that your money, your gear, and your upgrades are all going to factor in to the enjoyment of the new quests and areas. Even if new and better gear is made available, you'll have to purchase it or trade for it, so have a healthy supply of silver and materials for whatever is coming around the corner.

1 Make A Review

If you've beaten the game, your experience is important. People will be looking at a lot of reviews from critics and users when are trying to figure out what decision they should make about acquiring the game for themselves or someone else.

It also helps developers identify things that either did or didn't resonate with their players. Even if what you have to say has been said by someone else, adding your voice to those sentiments will drive home the point and make future installments even better.
