Whether it be Easter eggs or just a simple nod to the other series, Ubisoft has dropped hints over the years in both games that seem to indicate Assassin's Creed and Watch Dogs may in fact be connected, besides both having some parkour involved in them.

10 A Leap Of Faith Can Be Performed In Watch Dogs: Legion

An operative prepares to perform a leap of faith in Watch Dogs: Legion

This one is admittedly a bit of a stretch but the eagle sound is too big to ignore. During Legion's main story, the player will have to investigate a man named Hamish's apartment - but first have to disable his defenses through a console on the roof.

After doing this, you will notice a prompt over the edge of the roof. Hitting it will have your Dedsec operative perform a leap of faith, with an accompanying eagle sound, by diving into the water below. That eagle had probably seen an assassin or two do a jump like that perform and on instinct, made a sound upon seeing the leap of faith.

9 An Operative Could Search For Descendants Of Jacob Frye In Legion

An operative in WD: Legion's team screen has searched for Jacob Frye descendants

A cool thing Watch Dogs: Legion lets you do is look into the profiles of the game's different types of operatives. This includes things like their age, family, and some of their search history. An especially interesting profile was leaked before the game's release seemed to tie in with one of Assassin's Creed: Syndicate's protagonists, Jacob Frye.

In the leaked screenshot, the operative in question had searched online for "Jacob Frye descendants". This seems to indicate that both Jacob and his sister Evie existed at some point in the Watch Dogs universe, as well as Assassin Creed.

In a series of side missions as part of the Assassin's Creed crossover in Watch Dogs: Legion, the player can recover artifacts associated with the Assassin brotherhood that had been seized by the game's factions. Factions that have some members of the Templar Order, the main antagonists of the Assassin's Creed series.

The recovered artifacts are actually items that once belonged to past Assassin's Creed characters. Some of which include Jacob Frye's necklace and the cane that Evie Frye used as her weapon of choice.

The company has hands in just about every industry such as the medical and entertainment industries. They also exist in the Watch Dogs universe if this Easter egg is anything to go by.

If you check out a sign in Watch Dogs: Legion that lists the stocks of several of the game's companies - Piccadilly Circus is a good place to look - you will see that one of the company's listed is Abstergo who seem to be doing well for themselves.

6 Abstergo Is Referenced In Some People's Profiles In The First Watch Dogs

The stock market listing wasn't the first time Abstergo was mentioned in Watch Dogs. The company is also mentioned when checking out people's profiles in the first game.

The profiles usually list what the people do and what they are going through, and sometimes Abstergo is mentioned in their profiles - usually mentioning that the person profiled works for Abstergo. Does this mean these people are Templars hidden in plain sight? Probably not, but who knows?

A document in AC 4 that references Blume from Watch Dogs

During the modern-day segments of the game, you can explore an Abstergo office and find numerous documents on subjects within the world of Assassin's Creed. One of those documents is a profile on Blume from Watch Dogs that says "we look forward to working with you". A sinister partnership has seemingly been born.

4 The Erudito Logo On A Poster Watch Dogs 2

WD2's Marcus takes a selfie in front of a Disbeliever movie poster, which has the Erudito logo from Assassin's Creed on it.

Erudito is sort of a hacker group in Assassin's Creed that serves as the Assassin's answer to Abstergo. Though not as big, they do try their best at foiling Abstergo whenever they get the chance. It seems they have even been to San Francisco in Watch Dogs 2.

If you look around Watch Dogs 2's world a bit, you may notice posters for a movie called "Disbeliever". Looking closely at the top of the poster will reveal the Erudito logo on which is an upside-down version of Abstergo's logo.

3 The Requiescat In Pace Mission In Watch Dogs

Aiden Pearce profiles the now dead CEO of Abstergo Entertainment in Watch Dogs 1.

In one of the convoy side missions in the first Watch Dogs, Aiden Pearce is tasked with neutralizing a business executive who has been delving into genetic memories. Profiling this character will reveal him to be Olivier Garneau, Abstergo Entertainment's CEO whose profile says he has been targeted by the Brotherhood, which is clearly the Assassin Brotherhood.

Veterans of Assassin's Creed 4 will remember him as he first appeared in that game briefly before leaving for something in Chicago. But in Chicago, where Watch Dogs is set, he goes missing and is never heard from again. It's safe to assume that Aiden Pearce was the one that brought an early retirement to Olivier Garneau's career.

2 Photo Of Aiden Pearce Gunning Him Down In Assassin's Creed: Origins

The modern-day segments of Assassin's Creed: Origins puts players in the shoes of Layla Hassan: an Abstergo employee who has no idea of the company ties to the Templars. Players can view her laptop which contains a bunch of information - including what happened to Garneau.

A photo in Layla's laptop will show Aiden Pearce gunning him down during that convoy mission. Though Pearce isn't named in the document, you only need to see the trench coat and baseball hat to know that those belong to Watch Dogs' main character.

1 Dedsec Discovers The Assassin vs. Templar Feud In Legion

Assassin Darcy in WD: Legion with her mask on whose plight ends up revealing the Assassin vs. Templar feud to Dedsec.

Perhaps by chance, Dedsec in the Assassin's Creed crossover finds themselves right in the middle of the feud between Templars and Assassins that has been waged in the shadows for centuries. Dedsec finds out that the some members of the game's enemy factions have ties to the Templars.

This eventually leads them to Darcy, who is on the run from the Templars. Not only does she have a hidden blade and white hood but she also eventually finds an Assassin tomb which holds the remains of The Frye siblings - Syndicate's main characters - and Edward Kenway, the infamous pirate from Black Flag. This event is what finally ties the two series together.
