Atelier Ryza 3: Alchemist of the End & the Secret Key has many returning aspects from its predecessors that will make fans feel right at home when they boot it up and start perusing the Synthesis Menu to see all the cool things they can create and use.
However, it can be somewhat overwhelming to newcomers, especially when you don't know where to start regarding what Skills to unlock or what you should make first with Ryza's powerful Alchemy. There are many things to see and do in Ryza 3, and exploring the ocean's depths is among them, but you will need a specific Item to do that.
Crafting The Air Drop
Exploration is one of the biggest focuses in Atelier Ryza 3. You will constantly gather Resources and Materials to return to Ryza's Atelier and begin creating cool and exciting things with her Alchemy that will give you the upper hand in combat and when roaming each region in the game. Amongst these Items that you can Synthesize with Alchemy are Survival Tools, which allow you to obtain more Materials with nifty Gathering Survival Tools or reach new areas with the helpful Exploration Survival Tools.
The Air Drop is one of the most crucial Exploration Survival Tools in Atelier Ryza 3. This Tool enables you to dive underwater and explore the ocean's depth, allowing you to find rare and valuable Resources and Materials. Furthermore, this Survival Tool will be available to you right from the jump, almost begging you to Synthesize it as soon as possible and use it to explore the Kark Isles' gorgeous blue waters fully.
Fortunately for you, you can Synthesize the Air Drop pretty early in the game and will find all the Materials necessary to make it when Ryza and her friends head back to the Kark Isles. The Recipe for the Air Drop is in the table below!

How To Explore Underwater
Once you have the required Materials and have Synthesized the Air Drop, you will finally be able to dive underneath Deep Waters. But, before you can do this, you must first equip it, which can be done by opening the Menu while still inside your Atelier and navigating to the Items tab. Next, select one of the blank tiles and then choose the Air Drop to equip it to that slot.
From here, you will be able to dive underneath the water where it is deep enough, with the Kark Isles being the only location with deep enough waters for diving in the early portions of the game. To do this, begin swimming in the water until you reach a deep enough area, then press the Triangle Button (PlayStation) to submerge yourself under the water. You can keep going deeper by pressing and holding the Triangle Button, or you can ascend by pressing the Circle Button.
There will be many things to gather underneath the water, and you should take full advantage of your new abilities to do just that. The Kark Isles alone will give you access to Materials and Resources you have not yet collected by exploring the bottoms of the oceans. You may even stumble into secret areas or rare and high-quality Materials. While you cannot submerge yourself under every body of water in the game, there are enough times you can do it that will make snagging it early one of the best decisions you can make when first starting out.
