While most Quests will offer things such as SP, Materials, or even Recipes for your Alchemy, many will also give you cutscenes that dive deeper into a specific region, character, or plot point that will help make the world fill more lived-in and organic, which make all of them worth seeking out.

Main Quests

As expected, the Main Quests are the Quests that pull you through the primary story of the game, moving the plot forward and advancing you from the start of Ryza's journey to the end of her final adventure with her close and loyal friends.

Main Quests will reward you with Recipes for Synthesizing and unlock more regions and areas for you to explore. Furthermore, this is how you will meet and acquire your new party members, making them your primary focus until you roll credits.

You can pinpoint your Main Quests by looking for the Gold Scroll with an Exclamation Mark on it when looking at your Map or Mini-Map. Once you clear all Main Quests, however, this icon will no longer be visible.

Normal Quests

Normal Quests serve as Atelier Ryza 3's Side-Quests and offer some of the best rewards in the game. These Quests will reward you with hefty sums of SP, Materials, and even some Weapon Recipes that are largely considered the best in the game. The Map and Mini-Map Icon for Normal Quests is an Orange Exclamation Mark, so be on the lookout for them!

Despite being completely optional, you should take time from your adventure to tackle these as soon as possible, as the reward for your effort is almost always worth it. However, if you are just looking to get your hands on the weapons, the list below are the Normal Quests you're looking for!

World Quests

World Quests are lore-based Quests that will have an overall impact on the world itself, changing the layout of some areas and giving you access to more Materials or places you couldn't reach before. Even if they are more lore and world-building focused than the other Quests, they are worth investing in if you want to flesh everything out more.

These Quests are indicated on your Map and Mini-Map with a Blue Exclamation Mark and are typically multi-step Quests that will have Ryza make specific Items with her Alchemy or dispatch a few monsters. While you won't be rewarded with anything substantial here, World Quests will give you a better appreciation for each region and its people.

Character Quests

Character Quests are similar to World Quests in that they don't offer much in terms of rewards but will offer excellent moments that should not be passed on if you're a fan of the characters and their relationships in the Atelier Ryza series.

Excluding Ryza, there are ten playable characters in Atelier Ryza 3, all of which have their own set of Character Quests. This means there are A LOT of Character Quests for you to get through in this game if you want to do them all. And, the thing is, we cannot recommend them enough and feel the moments and interactions displayed in these Quests are worth diving into.

To find a Character Quest on your Map or Mini-Map, look for a Pink Icon with a silhouette of a person and a Question Mark. Make your way toward that point in the world to trigger a cutscene and maybe even a short Side-Quest!

Random Quests

Lastly, we have Random Quests, which are Quests that will sporadically pop up as you explore each region. These Quests can be as simple as gathering glowing Items in the area, defeating a group of enemies, delivering a specific Item to an NPC, and more.

Random Quests are marked on your Map and Mini-Map as a Green Exclamation Mark. They will typically reward you with valuable Materials and SP, making them a must-do when you first start out, especially if you want to earn SP quickly before you gain access to the Rebuilding mechanic.
