Atelier Ryza 3: Alchemist of the End & the Secret Key is the third and final installment of the Ryza trilogy, bringing with it some familiar aspects from its predecessors, many enhancements, and tons of new things to create, explore, and experiment with.
Survival Tools are one of the returning aspects of the game. They enable Ryza to gather more resources and materials for her Alchemy and give her new ways to navigate the world, broadening how she can explore and find those valuable resources. There are many Survival Tools to make, and all of them are crucial to helping Ryza become the best Alchemist around.
Survival Tools Overview
As mentioned above, Survival Tools are the backbone of your adventure, allowing you to acquire more materials when harvesting minerals, plants, gasses, and more. The higher quality your Survival Tools are, and the Effects and Traits applied to them, will ultimately decide how good the materials you pull from nodes are, making them crucial for your Alchemy.
Furthermore, there are also Survival Tools that are more geared toward exploration, allowing you to dive underwater, swing over large gaps, and even summon a Mount to make navigating the open world at a much greater pace than before. So, to cover all these Survival Tools efficiently, we have split them into two categories: Gathering Survival Tools and Exploration Survival Tools, which you can find in the sections below for more information on them. This will cover what each Survival Tool does and how you can make them!
Gathering Survival Tools
Gathering Survival Tools refer to the Tools you use to obtain resources and materials from nodes, enabling you to be selective of what you get from them. Some Gathering Nodes will give you various materials depending on what Tool you choose to harvest them with. You should always have one of every Gathering Tool equipped, as it will allow you to quickly swap to the one you need if you stumble across a resource you need or one you haven't acquired yet.

Emerald Band
The Emerald Band allows you to swing over marked gaps and reach new areas with a Rope that acts as a grappling hook, making it crucial to make it as early as possible to gain access to rare materials. Some are Elemental Specific, meaning you must craft several Emerald Bands of different Elements for some regions. You can also find Emerald Band spots on your map by looking for the Ring Icon.
Before you can Synthesize the Emerald Band, you must first obtain it in the Skill Tree. For this, you must acquire the Gathering: Quantity Boost Lv. 1 Skill first, making the Emerald Band Skill Recipe available for unlock. Once that is taken care of, you will need to get your hands on specific materials, which you can find in the table below.

Summon a Spirit Beast into the open world that will make exploration much faster and more efficient. It will serve as your Mount and enable you to Dig up materials and resources at marked spots scattered all around each region. However, before you can craft the Summoner's Bell, you must first progress through the story until you build your first Atelier in the Cleria region. After you do that, Ryza will come up with the recipe automatically, and all you will need to bring it into existence are the materials.
