About Kyle Chamaillard
Kyle has been playing video games for as long as he can remember and spent many nights hiding his Game Boy under his pillow whenever he heard his parents roaming outside his door. After spending seven years selling retro games and consoles, he pivoted to writing about the games he loves toward the end of 2020.
When Kyle isn't playing the latest Nintendo game, you can find him catching up on shows like Survivor and Big Brother. He has four cats, which love to bother him when he sits down to work.
Industry Focus
Covering all aspects of gaming, from how video games impact pop culture to which Pokemon has the best facial hair. I'm currently writing lists and explainers and answering your questions about your favorite games here at TheGamer.
Favorite Games
My favorite game is Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door because it encapsulates everything I love about video games. From the hilarious writing to the characters and music, I consider it a masterpiece.
Other games that instantly come to mind are Nier: Automata, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, Yoshi's Island, and the Ace Attorney series.
Proudest Gaming Achievement
I remember renting Paper Mario 64 for a weekend back in 2001 and completing it in two days. It's a short game, but I felt really cool when it happened and told everyone at recess the following Monday.
I also got a high score for "Sabotage" by the Beastie Boys on a Guitar Hero arcade machine in Peru in 2013 and often wonder if it's still there.
