30 Spring: God Of War

When it comes to action-adventure and mythological games, God Of War surely takes the cake. It made its first debut in the year 2005 for the PS2 and has since then exploded in popularity, making it a pretty big title for the PlayStation brand. 

The franchise is going to new heights with its upcoming release on April 20th, 2018

The new game is supposed to have much better visuals than previous games, more intense moments, and a much better storyline. Although we do not know a lot about this one yet, we do know that it does a better job at evening out the action and fights with a storyline that is made to draw in its players. God Of War is available right now for preorder — and is set to be one of the most important PS4 games of the year.

29 Later: Red Dead Redemption 2

Made by Rockstar Games, Red Dead Redemption 2 is a Western-themed action game set to be released on October 26th, 2018. This game will be released for both the PS4 and Xbox One, and is a prequel to the original Red Dead Redemption game that was released in 2010. This is a third-person game that you can either play single-player or online with others. For people who love Rockstar's games, the wait is probably agonizing, because it was actually announced back in 2016. It has been a long time coming. Red Dead Redemption is also anticipated to be one of the highest selling games for the 2018 year, so like with many other games, pre-ordering this game would not be a bad idea if you want to make sure that you are able to get your hands on a copy before they run out.

28 Spring: Nintendo Labo

Although this next one may not be an actual game, Nintendo Labo is a huge project that Nintendo has been working on and it is set to release on April 20th this year. This is different from anything we have ever experienced in the gaming world, which is no surprise because Nintendo is always pretty great at coming up with fun and exciting new things.

The Nintendo Labo will be a construction toy developed by Nintendo that you will be able to use on the Switch console.

It will feature cardboard cutouts and a few other materials that can be used to construct “toy cons,” an interesting play on your joy cons. This one is sure to be a hit with all the kids, but parents might find themselves wondering why exactly they are paying for some cardboard, when they could probably just do that themselves. In reality, it's really not that easy.

27 Later: Shadow Of The Tomb Raider

The very first Tomb Raider was first released in 1996, and has been a huge success ever since. Its latest release, Rise Of The Tomb Raider, was released in 2015. So, it would appear that we are slightly overdue for a new one. Well, the wait is almost over because Shadow Of The Tomb Raider will be released on September 14th for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. The series focuses on the main character, Lara Croft, as she navigates her way through different places, fighting enemies, and sometimes even completing some puzzles along the way. The game has been such a huge hit that they even rebooted the movie series. So, if you are a long time Lara Croft fan, it's time to start thinking about how your wallet is going to feel come Fall 2018.

26 Spring: Detroit Become Human

If you liked Beyond Two Souls and Heavy Rain, then this next game is one that you absolutely must get. Made by Quantic Dreams, Detroit Become Human is a game that is sure to capture its player’s attention and win over their hearts. This decision-based game revolves around a few androids, one of which escapes the factory that she was made in. The game will be played in a third-person point of view and since it is decision-based, you are able to play this game multiple times and have different outcomes each time. Making it a game that you will never get sick of. This game’s characters are very realistic and the graphics will leave you in awe. As always, Quantic Dreams never disappoints us when it comes to an amazing storyline. This game is going to be released on May 25th, 2018, and it will be for the Ps4 only.

25 Later: Call Of Duty: Black Ops 4

The Call of Duty franchise has been very successful, there is no doubt about that, it is a first-person shooter that is enjoyed the whole world over. As great as Call of Duty stories tend to be, the people who play these games every year are usually mostly in it for the multiplayer online. There is nothing like going up against a bunch of other players from around the world in various different game modes and various different maps as well. With each new game that comes out in this series, the graphics improve, new features are added, and they take things to a whole new level. Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is set to be released on October 12th of this year and is expected to sell out rather fast.

24 Spring: Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze

Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze is a remake of the 2014 Wii u game of the game name. The newest iteration in the classic Rare/Nintendo franchise is still tough-as-nails but with added fidelity and incredible controls. Donkey Kong: Tropical Freeze is said to be coming to the Nintendo Switch early this May, and it will be the fifth installment of the Donkey Kong Country series. This sequel to Donkey Kong Country: Returns, which was available in the year 2010 on the Nintendo Wii, definitely lives up to its name. Moreover, the game can be played co-op, making for an even more challenging (and fun!) experience. The Nintendo Switch version, can't come soon enough.

23 Later: Dragon Quest 11 Echoes Of An Elusive Age

The Dragon Quest video game series has been exceedingly popular (especially in Japan), selling upwards of three million copies in 2017 alone. These are role-playing games in which players get the chance to fight monsters, level up, and advance in the storyline — basic stuff.  The latest installment of this series, Dragon Quest 11: Echoes Of An Elusive Age, will be released on September 4th of this year. 

It will be coming out for the Ps4, PC, Nintendo 3DS, and the Nintendo Switch at a later date.

Players can expect to see updated graphics, and if they are using the Nintendo 3DS to play, then they can expect things to be somewhat different from how they are on the PlayStation version. In the 3DS version, there will be some 3D graphics displayed across the top screen, making it a completely unique experience.

Vampyr is an upcoming game for PC, Ps4, and Xbox One that is set to be released on June 5th of this year. The new game from Dontnod is about a doctor turned vampire, and how he comes to terms with his new life. The person who plays the game is under no obligation to end everyone in order to complete the game, making it a very interesting decision-based game. Every move that you make in this game does have an effect the citizens of the town in the game, so choose wisely. The game takes place in London, and it looks positively eerie. This will be played in the third person perspective and looks to have some pretty breathtaking graphics, so if you are into role-playing/decision-making games, then this is one that you will definitely want to try out.

21 Later: Marvel's Spider-Man

Marvel fans everywhere are going to go nuts when this next game is released on September 7th this year, because it appears as though it is going to be amazing. Spider-Man is going to be an open world game taking place in modern-day New York City. Players will be playing the game in the third-person perspective and will be able to use things such as spidey webs, parkour, and wall crawling to get through the game. There will be parts of the game where you are not playing the part of Spider-Man himself, but rather Peter Parker, and occasionally Mary Jane Watson. It doesn't take a genius to understand how great a Spider-Man game developed by Insomniac Games could be.

20 Spring: Hyrule Warriors Definitive Edition

Zelda fans are in for a treat this May, because Nintendo will be releasing Hyrule Warriors: Definitive Edition, on May 18th for the Nintendo Switch. The definitive edition of Hyrule Warriors is said to be an ultimate version of the game, and it will include all 29 playable characters, all the downloadable content, and even new outfits. You can choose to play as Link, Zelda, Midna, and even Skull Kid with many more options to choose from. This is a game that you will not want to miss out on, especially if you are lifelong Zelda fan. Players will have the option of playing either at home, or on the go, thanks to the Nintendo Switch’s mobile abilities, making this game a must-have. So mark your calendars, because you are going to get this one as soon as it is out. With only about a month to wait, you can spend your downtime catching up by playing your old Zelda games.

The Elder Scrolls is a series of role-playing games that was first released in 1994 and had its most recent release in 2017. It is mainly known for having very large and detailed worlds that really draw in players. So far this series has sold over 50 million copies worldwide, making it a very populin-demand demand game in many areas of the world. The Elder Scrolls Online: Summerset will be released on June 5th of this year for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC. As the next-in-life expansion to the popular MMORPG, it's clear that anyone already playing TES Online is going to be picking up the latest from Bethesda. Now if only we could get a follow-up to Skyrim so the rest of us can play something offline. 

18 Spring: Dark Souls Remastered

Dark Souls took gamers everywhere by storm after it was released, this game was a third-person action role-playing game. In it, you get to explore a very large and open-world while fighting various beasts and monsters all while leveling up to advance in the game. This game was originally released in 2011, but it is now set to have a remastered version released on May 25th of this year for the following consoles. This game will be coming to the PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC. Of course, graphics for video games have come a long way since 2011, and so the fact that fans of this game are getting a remastered version is very exciting, because they will now be able to replay the game with updated visuals (and most importantly: frame-rate). So, if you are a fan of this game, and would like to see it in a better quality, be sure to pick up your copy this May.

2018 certainly does seem like a big year for racing games, with the release of The Crew 2 coming out, and now the announcement of Onrush as well. Onrush is an upcoming arcade style racing game where players get to drive around in cars, motorcycles, and off-road vehicles on some very rough terrain filled with hills. The main way to boost up in this game is to perform stunts and tricks, and there is not a lot in the way of a storyline here, so if you are more into games with a story and purpose behind them then this is probably not the best choice for you.

This game is going to be released on June 5th of this year and will be for both the PS4 and Xbox One.

There is currently a trailer out of this game, so if it sounds interesting to you, then you do have the option to go check it out and see if it something that you would get into.

16 Spring: Sega Mega Drive Classics

There have been a lot of classic games coming out redone lately, and people everywhere seem to be loving it, so they are sure to be excited when they hear about this next game. Sega Mega Drive Classics is currently available for preorder and will contain over 50 classic games, and will be released for both the PS4 and the Xbox One on May 29th. This game will include classic titles like Sonic, Phantasy Star, Streets Of Rage, Beyond Oasis, Flicky, ToeJam And Earl, Vectorman, and so much more. This is one of those games that is sure to sell out fast, and for only $30.00 (half the cost of most new games these days), it is easy to see why. As for the graphics on these classic games, not much will have changed, but it will be nice to play all of them on one console, one disc, and for such a low price.

15 Later: The Crew 2

The Crew 2 is a follow-up to the original game where players get to race cars of their choosing in an open world concept. Players will be able to control not only cars, but motorcycles, planes, and boats as well, making it a game with many options that never gets boring. The Crew 2 will be released on June 29th of the year 2018 for PC, PS4, and even Xbox One, leaving almost no gamers behind based on what console they choose to use. In the game, there will be four different hub worlds, each with their very own theme and play style. The themes will include street racing, pro racing, and even freestyle. Leaving the player with the option to do whatever is that they like best about the game, and the area that they most accel in, and it will also be putting a huge emphasis on the multiplayer mode.

14 Spring: Metal Max Xeno

If you are into role playing games, then Metal Max Xeno is the game for you. It is set to be released on April 19th of this year for the PS4 and Vita, and is the sixth title in the Metal Max series. This will also be the first Metal Max game on a PlayStation console. Not a lot has been said about this game so far, and the creators seem to be letting a lot up to the imagination, but with a release date so close by, we are sure to figure out just how great this game is, soon enough. This is a Japanese video game series, whose first game release was all the back in 1991, with its most recent release being in the year 2015. Metal Max Xeno has been a long time coming, and has certainly evolved a lot since the very first game was released, making this game something worth checking out.

13 Later: Mario Tennis Aces

Mario Tennis Aces is a sports game in a long line of Mario Tennis titles. The biggest difference is that this one is coming to the Nintendo Switch — and soon! Players will have the options to play as many different characters such as Peach, Mario, Daisy, Luigi, Wario, Waluigi, Yoshi, Donkey Kong, and many more, which seems to be the normal when playing most Mario games these days. Aces will be slightly different from the other Mario Tennis games in the sense that it incorporates new techniques and tricks to perform. The game is set to be released on June 22nd and can be played as both single and multiplayer. Like most Nintendo games, and all Mario games, Mario Tennis Aces is going to be another great game to add to family game night as it is perfect for all age groups. So, whether you are a long time Mario fan, Nintendo fanatic, or just looking for something new to play with the family, then you should be sure to get a copy of this.

Everspace, a 3-D space shooter game, is set to be released on May 29th of this year for the PS4. Players will be able to purchase this game as either the basic version, or the galactic version. The galactic version will come with the game, an add-on, a soundtrack, and a color printed booklet, for just 39.99 in the US. Whether that's worth it or not is going to be up to potential buyers to decide. If you are the type of person that is into shooter games, or used to love the classic, Galaga, then this game might just be perfect for you. With different ships and weapons to choose from, as well as materials to repair your ships, this game is sure to be exciting. Another notable thing about this one is that it's decidedly tame, making it ok for familys to enjoy together.

Almost everybody these days has seen at least one Jurassic Park movie, and most people have seen all of them. This upcoming game, Jurassic World Evolution, is going to be based off of the 2015 movie Jurassic World. It is going to be released on June 12th this year and will be available for the PC, Ps4, and even the Xbox One. In this game, the player will be able to construct an entire Jurassic World theme park on their own, with their ultimate goal being to create five parks in total across the islands. It will have about 40 different dinosaur species, and you have to work pretty hard at DNA sequencing within the game in order to unlock new species. This game is sure to be a hit with tons of people, and it really sounds like it has a creative edge to it that people are sure to love.
