Back 4 Blood developer Turtle Rock Studios has announced that the game has already reached the 6 million player milestone just two weeks after launch. The developer announced the news via the official Back 4 Blood Twitter account earlier today, thanking "Cleaners" for their hard work and dedication over the past fortnight.

While Back 4 Blood has had a fairly positive and successful launch, these numbers are very likely the result of the game being on Xbox Game Pass. Microsoft announced at the beginning of the month that Back 4 Blood would be hitting the service on launch day, possibly prompting quite a few people to try the game out via Game Pass rather than pre-order or purchase the game.

This isn't to say that Back 4 Blood wouldn't have been successful without Game Pass. People have been clamoring for a true successor to the Left 4 Dead franchise for a while now, and Back 4 Blood debuted fairly well in the boxed charts in the UK, coming in fourth behind high-profile titles such as Metroid Dread, FIFA 22, and Far Cry 6.

Even if a fair amount of those 6 million players are currently inactive due to trying it out once via Game Pass, Back 4 Blood still has a dedicated audience that adores the game. However, several players are becoming agitated over the game's solo player mode. Back 4 Blood disables progression for solo players, forcing them into matches with random teammates in order to earn supply points.

Turtle Rock has made fans aware that it's working on a solution, although over two weeks later fans are starting to get impatient. Even in the replies to Back 4 Blood's celebratory tweet, there are a number of players still asking whether improvements to the game's solo mode are coming or not. Hopefully, Turtle Rock can implement something sooner rather than later.
