Larian Studios has detailed the upcoming Patch 6 for Baldur's Gate 3, its biggest update yet, which should arrive very soon. You'll need about 60GB of free space to join in, so — be ready for some massive changes and improvements.

The developer released a pre-patch announcement on Steam, noting it will thoroughly explore the update during the next traditional Panel From Hell livestream. There's a lot of new content in Patch 6, but the team didn't want to reveal all of their surprises just yet at this stage.

Larian also said that fans can get an exclusive preview of what's coming next at the EGX expo in London, running from October 7 to October 10. If you are among those attending, you can expect to see the new playable magical class coming to Baldur's Gate 3 next.

Another notable addition to the game (and your arsenal) will be... the equipable Salami, lunch meat you can dual wield for impressive results. Of course, there are plenty of other new features headed to Baldur's Gate 3 stuffed away in those 60GB of new files, but food you can fight with is the novelty we're more excited about.

With all the goodies arriving in Baldur's Gate 3 regularly, there's at least one big downside: any saves made in Patch 5 or versions prior will no longer be compatible after the new update. So, if you still want to play with your old character, you'll need to follow the step-by-step instructions mapped out on Steam.

For now, Larian Studios is currently aiming to launch Baldur's Gate 3 "hopefully somewhere in 2022," as the massive project is quite the undertaking. The game originally made its debut via Steam early access in 2020, with Larian's initial plans set to keep it there for a year. However, since then, studio head Swen Vincke joked that "it is going to come eventually" and hinted that a full-fledged launch may not happen until next spring.
