Still loved and certainly not forgotten, the original Baldur’s Gate, Baldur’s Gate 2, and Icewind Dale enhanced editions on Steam have all gotten a new patch. This patch, version 2.6, provides all sorts of cool updates including better stability, the fix of hundreds of bugs, and the improvement of pathfinding. Baldur’s Gate Patch Notes

  • Upgrade to 64-bit which improves system compatibility
  • New character voice sets
  • New character portraits
  • New localizations
  • AI loads correctly with character imports
  • You can disable item comparison
  • You don’t need to click before typing in text inputs
  • A plethora of updates to spells and abilities including corrected casting range on Detect Illusion and Fire Shields and Blade Barriers able to be refreshed before they expire

  • Added French text localization
  • Hundreds of bug fixes

  • Some updates to spells and abilities including Chaotic Commands now using the correct projectiles at all levels and Implosion no longer bypassing Hold Protections inappropriately
  • You can disable item comparison
  • You don’t need to click before typing text inputs
  • Absolute Power achievement fixed
  • Edits added to display, dialogue, and audio throughout
  • Fixes to numerous item bugs

Icewind Dale Patch Notes

  • Upgrade to 64-bit which improves system compatibility
  • Final achievement fixed
  • Added Brazilian, Portuguese, and Chinese text localizations
  • New character voice sets
  • New character portraits
  • Extremely long list of changes to magic and abilities including animal rage only able to be cast on allies and Antimagic Shell no longer producing lines of redundant feedback
  • Comet spell has been fixed to allow projectile support
  • Spells audio and visual effects have been updated and fixed
  • Item bugs have been corrected
  • Numerous quests have been updated
