It is safe to say that Battlefield 2042 has had an extremely turbulent launch considering the sheer amount of complaints DICE has received. In a bid to tackle this, a lead game designer for DICE has been replying to all major and minor fan complaints for the past couple of days.

Battlefield 2042 launched fully on November 19, 2021, but players who purchased the Gold and the Ultimate editions got early access to the game. However, the number of bugs and glitches in the game made it almost unplayable.

Lead designer Florian has been addressing most of these issues on Twitter where he has been doing his best to respond to every query possible. From questions about adding the classic scoreboard to some of the more technical issues, a lot of the concerns have already been addressed.

These Twitter interactions indicate that DICE is aware of a majority of the issues plaguing the game. However, there are some bugs that even the lead designer was surprised to see. For example, a player shared a video where the animation made it seem like the character is levitating instead of running. Florian could only respond with ‘Yikes. Thanks!’

It is nice to see that the developers are taking the issues seriously and that a lead designer is patiently responding to every single concern. However, this does not change the fact that this could’ve been completely avoided had DICE not released an unfinished game. Most of the queries got a response where Florian mentions that the team is aware of the issue. Clearly, the launch should’ve been delayed if the game was so buggy and all this could’ve been easily avoided.

Given the current state of the game, there are players who feel cheated when they paid full price for an incomplete game. No wonder the game has terrible reviews on Steam and is now one of the worst-reviewed games ever.

DICE has already announced that they plan to release two updates within 30 days of launch that will fix a majority of these issues. Florian’s interactions with the community will be of great help here to fix the issues that the team doesn’t know of. Hopefully, the game will be much better with these updates which will probably help in improving the community’s morale.
