As expected, Battlefield 2042’s first open beta weekend has just been confirmed by DICE. Fans will be able to get their hands on the all-new Battlefield starting on October 6 and lasting until October 9.

Early access will take place from October 6 to October 7 for pre-orders and EA Play members, while everyone else will be given free access starting on October 8. Pre-load for Battlefield 2042 starts on October 5.

The open beta will feature just one game mode and one map. Conquest will be familiar to Battlefield fans, but "the action now centers around sectors consisting of several flags instead of individual control points." This means it’ll be more important to take general areas of play rather than specific points.

As for the map itself, Orbital is said to be set in and around a rocket launch site in Kourou, French Guiana. Besides the imminent rocket launch, players will be able to use ziplines to easily traverse the map and hopefully avoid storms and tornadoes that can drastically affect the flow of battle.

Only four specialists will be available during the beta, including Webster, Maria, Boris, and Casper. That'll give you a good variety of support, defense, and assault, but certainly won't be representative of everything that Battlefield 2042 will offer when the game releases in November.

EA also graced us with the game's PC requirements. Minimum specs are for an AMD Ryzen 5 3600 or Core i5 6600K, 8 GB of RAM, and either an AMD Radeon RX 560 or Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 Ti. Recommended specs are for either an AMD Ryzen 7 or Intel Core i7 4790, 16 GB of RAM, and either an AMD Radeon RX 6600 XT or Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060. Either way, you'll need 100 GB of free storage space to install the game.

Battlefield 2042 arrives on November 19.
