Battlefield 2042 got off to a rocky start, but updates from DICE have steadily improved the game since its launch last month. Update 3.1 is another step in the right direction, as it reworks a variety of vehicles and weapons for better balance, squashes a bunch of lingering bugs, and improves bullet hit registration for better consistency.

Battlefield 2042 Update 3.1 is now available across all platforms, and it's the last update the title will see until 2022. DICE announced that the team will be taking a (well-deserved) holiday break, before getting back into the action with "fresh eyes" for Season One. As usual, the full patch notes for Update 3.1 are lengthy, but here are some of the highlights:

At launch, Battlefield 2042 was plagued with bugs and inconsistencies that resulted in widespread backlash from the gaming community. Many longstanding features of the Battlefield franchise were noticeably absent, and many that were present didn't function as intended. DICE was quick to announce that fixes and patches were on the way, and the game is slowly getting better with every rework. Update 3.1 looks to be another step in the right direction, and it'll be interesting to see where the game ends up in 2022.
