Battlefield 2042's Open Beta will take place in September, EA has confirmed.

Following EA Play's showcase of Battlefield 2042, it has been confirmed that the Open Beta for the game will take place in September. Ripple Effect didn't give a specific date for the Open Beta.

According to ResetEra user Theorry, a now-deleted section of the Battlefield 2042 website revealed that the exact date for the Open Beta will be from September 6 and go until September 11. If you subscribe to EA Access or Origin, or if you pre-order Battlefield 2042, you'll get access to the Open Beta on September 4. The section of the website also states that pre-loading for the Beta will start on September 3.

These rumoured plans could be subject to change, as the section of the Battlefield 2042 website where the information was displayed has now seemingly been deleted. However, EA has confirmed that the Open Beta will still be taking place sometime in September, so it's possible that these dates are correct.

Previous rumours indicated that the Alpha for Battlefield 2042 would go live shortly after EA Play, but it looks like those plans have been delayed until a little later in the year. Battlefield 2042's reveal plans have been delayed several times over, so it's probably not too much of a surprise to see the Open Beta for the game be pushed back.

We recently had the chance to have a hands-off preview of Battlefield 2042, where we saw the newly revealed Battlefield Portals. This new mode allows players to create brand new modes and play maps from previous Battlefield titles. According to the developers, they're aware that fans are asking for Battlefield Bad Company 3.

In an interview, Ripple Effect general manager Christian Grass said, "The possibilities are endless. We don't even know the limitations of what the system can do."
