Bayonetta 3 tells a new story in the life of the Umbra Witch we all know and love. Facing new enemies and accompanied by her best friend Jeanne and a new acquaintance named Viola (as she insists to be called), the stakes are higher than ever before in the face of a multiversal collapse.

As you reach the conclusion of the Tokyo arc, Bayonetta will face the hardest battle in this zone, and meet... her counterpart? Keep reading to learn more about it.

Verse #1

B3_C3_Verse_1

Once you jump through the first few platforms, you will see a hole in the wall with a train stuck in it. Glide your way to that entrance and continue to find the first verse, which will entail a battle against several Affinity enemies that should be easy to kill.

  • Enemies: Affinity

Verse #2

B3_C3_Verse_2

As you reach the gate of Tokyo: Taito, look to your left and climb up to the terrace of the store. There will be a purple portal that leads to the next Verse, a Challenge where you'll have to accumulate combo points continuously before the timer runs out. It is highly recommended to use a variety of combined weapon techniques, shooting attacks, and demonic summons to rack as many points as possible. Succeed on this, and you will obtain a Broken Moon Pearl as a reward.

  • Enemies: Floccus

Verse #3

B3_C3_Verse_3

Continue to trigger a short cutscene that introduces Luka, and a new fight will begin against some Stratus and the newly introduced Fractus, a variant of the Floccus that hits even harder and has a ranged attack that hits very, very hard. Defeat them and continue through the ruined city until you see a temple in the distance

  • Enemies: Stratus, Fractus

Verse #4

B3_C3_Verse_4

Make your way to the temple, and once you reach the gate, look to your right and you will notice the next verse behind some small cabins. This purple portal will take you to a Challenge where you'll have to survive the Cavum's lasers and not let yourself be pulled into the clouds until the timer runs out. Succeed on this, and you will obtain a Broken Witch Heart as a reward.

  • Enemies: Cavum

Verse #5

B3_C3_Verse_5

Enter the temple and a short cutscene will play before a huge Cumulonimbus enemy starts fighting you. Be wary of its multiple laser attacks and AoE explosion techniques and dodge as often as you can, and once you're done with it, exit the temple in the direction of an abandoned military camp.

  • Enemies: Cumulonimbus

Verse #6

B3_C3_Verse_6

Travel through the ruins of the city until a new cutscene triggers, and shortly after you will take control of this world's Bayonetta. This chase sequence will have you running through several roofs and then a collapsing subway pathway, showing the controls of this Bayonetta's main weapon. Run as fast as you can, escaping from the consuming clouds, and you should safely land into the next verse.

  • Enemies: Cavum

Verse #7

B3_C3_Verse_7_01

After the chase sequence, you will arrive at the top of the Iridescent for the first of two phased fights. During the first one, you must kill a flower that's protected by two Uncinus and two shark-like monsters that emerge from water from time to time to make your life impossible, but with the proper care, this should be an easy fight. However, once you finish the first phase, you will be kicked out of this area and you must jump back on top of the Iridescent before the time runs out, or you will die.

B3_C3_Verse_7_02

When you successfully return, the second phase will begin, this time against the Iridescent Core. This boss fight will have the monster fairly away from your reach, so the Yo-Yo weapon will prove very useful, and if everything else fails you can also summon the Phantasmaraneae demon to aid you against this boss. The Iridescent Core has two huge arms, so keep close attention to its swipe attacks and dodge accordingly, taking advantage of the Witch Time mechanic to hit it hard.

Once the first HP bar is down, this enemy will also use a move where the floor will be filled with consuming clouds, and you must stay away from that as much as possible because if you remain in those too long you will also die. Keep hitting it as much as possible, and be sure to try the new Masquerade Rage technique you will unlock, and you should be fine to use the Climax attack in no time.

  • Enemies: Uncinus, Iridescent Core

Verse #8

B3_C3_Verse_8

Now back in control of the main Bayonetta, and in what can only be described as a kaiju film homage, you will take control of Sin Gomorrah and will fight Arch-Iridescent in a massive battle. Use the new available commands for Gomorrah as necessary, reacting to the enemy attacks, and once you defeat this foe and reach the climax, a cutscene will play and the Chaos Gear will be yours, along with the new weapon Ignis Araneae Yo-Yo and a pact with the demon Phantasmaraneae, thus marking the end of this arc.

  • Enemies: Arch-Iridescent
