Stronghold: Warlords developer Firefly Studios wants you to scream for them.

No, really. They want you to take out your microphone, scream into it, and send the recording their way. They'll also accept "grunts, shrieks, hollers and groans," according to a press release sent out by the developer, and your voice work might end up in the final game.

Normally, they'd hire voice actors for this kind of thing, but it turns out that the global pandemic has made it difficult to source actors and record audio in-person.

“These are troubling times. People are concerned about their health, loved ones and jobs” said Robert Euvino, Composer and Sound Designer on Stronghold: Warlords. “It got me thinking, this might be a good opportunity to have a little bit of fun with fans of the game and include them in a manner which we've never really tried before.”

There are technical requirements, of course, since Firefly isn't exactly going to use blown-out audio from a laptop microphone. You'll need to submit lossless .wav or .aif files using at least a semi-professional microphone, with a quality of at least Mono 16 bit, 44.1 kHz.

To submit your screams, go to the official Stronghold Discord server, follow the instructions in the  #pick-a-side channel, then head to the #screams-of-stronghold channel for more information.
