We've all been playing Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intermission, the brand new PS5 exclusive DLC for one of last year's most acclaimed games - I mean, everyone who actually bought a PS5 has been playing it, at least. This is an excellent title and destined to be one of the most remembered of this year.

In this guide we're going to be beating Ramuh in Chadley's VR missions. Ramuh is a tough boss, and truly devastating the first time you go against him, but once you know what to expect, you'll be able to take him down effortlessly.

In this guide we're going to break down what you need to know to take down Ramuh, so you can devastate him with the tips we lay out here. Otherwise, this is going to be a tough fight, and learning his intricacies is going to be an uphill battle. Read on below for everything you need to know.

Don't Go Alone

You will first meet Chadley and gain access to his VR missions against Ramuh fairly early on in the game, and you won't have anyone else in your party at this point. While it's totally possible to beat Ramuh like this, it won't feel like it. You should instead wait until Sonon is in your party, at least.

Or better yet, wait until you've already made some story progress in the main game, and got your crew a few new items to equip. Every little helps in this battle, and an advantageous Materia might make all the difference.

Bring Fresh Items

This should be obvious, but good items are going to be important to survive, especially if you run low on MP. Hi-Potions are actually not all that useful at the level you start the game at, so you should be using Mega Potions in battle. Make sure to stock up on Phoenix Downs in case you or Sonon go down.

On that note, Sonon will sacrifice himself to revive Yuffie once per battle when she goes down. This is a nice bit of security, but you'll want a Phoenix Down ready to get Sonon back up again after.

Get Ready To Dodge And Guard

Ramuh is oppressive with some attacks that will fill up the whole arena, so you shouldn't fight him half-heartedly. For many of his short-range attacks, you'll be able to dodge out of the way, and for his long-range attacks, you'll just have to guard. If you're unsure of what to expect, guard to be safe, and then you'll learn which attacks you'll be able to effectively avoid.

Download The Free DLC Summons

Did you know that there is free DLC summons available for Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intermission? It's true! Make sure to download and equip these summons before the battle, as they can actually make a huge difference as to how effective your attacks and abilities are, not to mention the damage they can do.

Use Wind Abilities

via GameSpot

Yuffie has a powerful Windstorm ability, and using this will deal a decent amount of damage and add Pressure to your foe, making it an ideal ability to use often. Don't forget to use Sonon's abilities when he has AP, either. Apply enough Pressure and you'll eventually Stagger Ramuh, which will allow you to do huge amounts of damage - getting there isn't easy, though. Use these tips and keep trying, and you'll eventually break through.
