Kim Possible is a show that has captured the hearts of kids, teens, and adults alike. The main character of the same name was unlike any other cartoon girl. She can do anything but deals with the problems of being a teenager at the same time. With excellent writing, amazing humor, and fantastic characters, this brilliant Disney Channel cartoon has been beloved by fans young and old and is still talked about to this day thanks to a live-action adaptation coming.

While the show is near perfect, there are secrets that we would never know about the show until we were older, and as we learn the behind-the-scenes information, it makes us look back on how much fun we had remembering the times we watched the show. As kids, we don’t really pay a lot of attention to changes that happened outside the show just as long as we see the smart concept and awesome characters stay.

Sometimes whenever something changes from the show, it felt like nothing had happened at all, whether it’d be a voice actor swap or how the show was intended to be at first. Discovering these secrets show us how much Kim Possible had to offer whether it is good or bad, but nothing too drastic to where it would get controversial. Well, that might not be the case for an episode that will be mentioned.

So, what’s the sitch? We have twenty interesting secrets about Kim Possible that even Wade’s genius brain can decode.

20 Critically Acclaimed

via: latimes.com

It’s no secret that Kim Possible was a huge success back in the day. With a simple yet engaging concept, the plot is easy to follow, but the characters are complex and fun. With the critical acclaim the show received, there were a lot of nominations ranging from the Emmy’s to the Annie Awards. Kim Possible got nominated in the Emmys for Outstanding Animated Program and won.

Even though it was the only Emmy nomination the show won, Kim Possible ended up getting a total of eight Emmy nominations.

Personally, we think it should have won all it was nominated for, but having one award is better than none at all.

What makes the duo of Kim Possible and Ron Stoppable so memorable are their voice actors. Christy Carlson Romano has been with Disney Channel before she lent her voice as the titular character. She played Ren Stevens on the show Even Stevens, co-starring Shia LeBeouf. She even starred in Cadet Kelly with Lizzie McGuire’s Hilary Duff.

Will Friedle appeared in Boy Meets World as Eric Matthews, which comes from ABC, but it is owned by Disney. He even voiced Seifer Almasy from Kingdom Hearts II, a character originally from Final Fantasy VIII. Other than being the voice of the goofball Ron, he also voiced Terry McGinnis from Batman Beyond, Deadpool in Ultimate Spider-Man, and so much more.

18 Composed By A Legend

Music has been one of the impressive parts in Kim Possible. It can range from groovy to suspenseful. Whenever Kim is at school, we can expect a nice tune, and when she’s fighting crime, the music is catchy. That wide range of variety would not have been possible if it weren’t for the insanely talented Adam Berry. This man has been in a number of shows working on music composition.

Other than Kim Possible, he has worked on music on South Park and Buzz Lightyear of Star Command.

His work on Kim Possible landed him an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Music Direction and Composition. Currently, he is the composer for Big Hero 6: The Series. Looks like he’s still giving it his all!

17 Talent Gone Too Soon

via: biography.com

As kids, we barely recognize any change from a show unless we paid close attention. Changes can include where the show is going regarding writing, the characters’ motivation, or even some voice changes. There were a few voice actors that had to leave the show in one way or the other.

One of the characters, Señor Senior, Sr., was voiced by the legendary late Ricardo Montalbán.

Due to his poor health, Ricardo had to recover while Kim Possible was still going. To help keep the Kim Possible villain going, a stand-in took over his role, that being Earl Boen. We honestly couldn’t tell the difference, but it was certainly a crowning achievement to have an incredibly talented actor like Ricardo to work on the show for a bit.

16 Coming Back After A Long Time

via: kimpossible.wikia.com

We can heavily thank the awesome creators behind Kim Possible for making such a perfect and fantastic show. Bob Schooley and Mark McCorkle are an iconic duo and their talent is all over the place in a show about a girl who can do anything. Once Kim Possible ended after its fourth season, the two actually switched networks for a while.

Even way before Kim Possible was created, the two even worked on other movies for Disney like The Lion King II: Simba’s Pride and Sky High. They worked at Nickelodeon producing The Penguins of Madagascar and Monsters vs. Aliens. Once those shows ended, they went back to Disney to work on Big Hero 6: The Series.

15 Not-So One-Hit Wonder

Who doesn’t love the theme song to Kim Possible? The lyrics immediately tell us about Kim and who she is. The singer also has a lovely voice, provided by Christina Milian. The song would become so popular that it became Christina’s most famous hit song. Thanks to the show, she gained exposure and she honestly did not expect it at all!

Even though the show helped her gain a lot of attention, that is, unfortunately, all that Christina is known for. However, that does not mean she has been unsuccessful throughout her singing career. Does anyone know the song “Dip it Low”?

14 His Name Is...

via: hollywoodlife.com

You’re probably wondering why you’re seeing John Cena right now. The answer is actually simple but also has an interesting history. It might seem out of place, but the well-known wrestler actually auditioned for the role of Ron Stoppable. And yes, that is actually true. Trying to imagine this famous wrestler turned actor being Ron is one of the weirdest thoughts you can have.

As we all know, he didn’t land the part. Because of that, it convinced him to pursue a career in wrestling, and his path was paved just like that. Maybe in another world, John Cena would be the voice of the dorky but lovable Ron Stoppable.

13 Wonderful Inspirations

via: toonzone.net

We just cannot get enough of the talent behind Kim Possible. Bob Schooley and Mark McCorkle had a lot of inspirations to help create the character and the story. How the creation of Kim came to be is rather sweet. Both Bob and Mark were inspired by their own daughters. Their idea goes along by having “a character that our daughters and other girls can look up to.”

The two creators eventually succeeded in the end.

Kim herself became one of the best female leads in cartoon history. Despite having flaws that any teenage girl would encounter, Kim Possible will always be one of the best heroines on TV, and the creators have every right to be proud for giving us a refreshing main character.

12 An Alternate Ending

via: youbioit.com

Even though it seemed hard to believe, but we all knew that Kim Possible had to end. The epic series finale brought us on a rollercoaster of emotions and fun. The show ended with Kim and Ron driving back from a beach party after graduation, flying towards the moon. That’s the ending we know, but concept art tells us otherwise.

Another ending was planned, and it would involve Kim and Ron attending the same college. Like the movie So the Drama, it would show a bulletin board from the college with the words “The End.” Even if we didn’t get to see this ending, it was nice to know that we at least know that Kim and Ron are together always.

11 An Idea Reborn

via: studybreaks.com

When cartoons that we absolutely adore get a live-action adaptation, some fans are reluctant to be openminded, but the reason is to be is justified. If you have watched The Last Airbender, then you know that a live-action adaptation is incredibly inferior to the cartoon. An idea for Kim Possible to get the live-action treatment is actually plausible. Although, it has been put off to the side due to time constraints and more.

However, Disney Channel has announced that Kim Possible will be getting a live-action film! With the help of the creators and the actors playing Kim and Ron, they announced who will be playing them in the movie. Will it be as good as the cartoon? We hope so!

10 From The Power Of Fans

via: pinterest.com

Back then, Disney had this rule where if a show reached 65 episodes, then the show will be over. Shows like Even Stevens and Lizzie McGuire were victims despite having critical success. Kim Possible would have been another, but thanks to the fans, we were able to see the show live another day.

Even if it was only one more season, the fact that the fanbase saved Kim Possible made us realize how much we appreciate the show. Before all of this happened, there was a Kim Possible movie that acted as a series finale, and we’ll back talking about that soon.

9 Pirates Meet Crime-Fighting

via: pinterest.com

Who would have thought that a Kim Possible episode would actually be a subtle advertisement for the highly successful Pirates of the Caribbean franchise? The title of the episode “Cap’n Drakken” just gives away of what we will be seeing in that episode. The references were interesting, taking an inspiration of the main theme of the pirate movie that would later become one of the most epic scores in movie history. While Kim Possible might not be the sole reason as to why the first Pirates of the Caribbean movie became a huge hit, but it is no surprise that it influenced some fans to check it out.

8 So Much Talent

via: variety.com

For a great show like Kim Possible, you can expect some epically cool guest stars lending their voices as characters. Would you believe that one of the members from NSYNC made an appearance in the show? To our surprise, it is true, since Lance Bass has appeared in the show. Even Ashley Tisdale starred as the villainess Camille Leon!

You see, there’s more where that came from.

Melissa McCarthy even voiced DNAmy! In the pilot episode “Crush,” you can even hear Breckin Meyer’s voice as Josh Mankey. Still not impressed? How about George Takei as Master Sensei and Debbie Reynolds as Nana Possible? Kim Possible just got a lot better with these famous actors appearing on the show.

7 Could It Be?

via: wordpress.com

It was hard to believe that Kim Possible got another season after witnessing the intense movie So the Drama, which acts as the original series finale. The opening song even played out differently, giving a James Bond feel to the music and singing.

Say that So the Drama was the series finale, would it be a fitting conclusion? The ending was certainly tender and heartwarming since it put us in a romantic mood. It would have been a bittersweet way to end the show with Kim and Ron kissing, but at least we were able to see more of them becoming a couple and tackle their senior year of high school.

6 Somebody Once Made A Cameo Appearance

via: kimpossible.wikia.com

You know that one song that is a huge hit, but the band is kind of hit and miss? That would “All Star” by Smash Mouth. From the looks of the picture above, even they have made a cameo appearance in this fantastic cartoon. They appear in the episode “Queen Bebe,” and the line the lead singer said pretty much sums up their career.

It is one thing to have bands make an animated appearance in cartoons, and Smash Mouth was at the height of their peak since their song “All Star” was a huge hit. A scene had to be cut too in order for them to have more screen time. If that isn’t a slap on the face, we don’t know what is.

5 Making A Sacrifice

via: aol.com

We got to hand it to Christy. She is incredibly talented and her portrayal of Kim Possible is raw and unique. Since she was a teenager while voicing Kim, that is what helps make Christy a perfect fit for the role! There was one thing that Kim got to do in high school that Christy could not.

Unlike Kim, Christy did not go to her prom.

It sounds pretty heartbreaking since it is one of the most important moments in high school.

It makes sense since Christy has a job and needs to be in order to meet the deadlines. Even though she couldn’t attend prom, she was able to experience it when Kim was there in So the Drama.

4 The More You Know

via: ew.com

Rufus might be a mole rat, but at least in the cartoon, he looks adorable. Ron’s pet has provided some help such as cutting rope with his teeth if Ron or Kim were to be tied up. His voice by the lovely Nancy Cartwright helps bring the charm this little guy has.

Nancy, along with a lot of actors, is a member of the church of Scientology. She has been a supporter ever since 1991 and has donated there. Not only that, she also met her former partner Stephen Brackett. Sadly, he passed away before they could get married. It must have been a very difficult time for Nancy, but at least she is still going strong.

3 The Lost Episode

via: screenrant.com

Episodes that would gain controversy around a certain topic would either have to be removed with censorship or just ban it altogether. Kim Possible happened to be one of those shows. In the MENA region, the episode “Ron the Man” was banned due to Ron’s Jewish heritage being revealed.

The episode couldn’t be dubbed in Arabic due to religious differences too.

It is one thing to have an episode banned for extreme subjects, but Ron’s heritage does not exactly play a huge part in his character. He was just born from that heritage and his personality shines better than what background he comes from.

2 Where Did He Go?

via: kickstarter.com

Hicka-bicka-boo? Hoo-sha! Those lines said by Tim and Jim Possible were brought to our ears by Shaun Fleming. His voice was iconic for Kim’s twin brothers and it fits them perfectly. What made us confused in season four was that Tim and Jim’s voice sounded slightly different. How come Shaun didn’t get to reprise his roles in the final season?

Due to going through personal changes, he had to be replaced.

Having a deeper voice would have thrown us off if Shaun reprised his role and it would not sound like Tim and Jim at all. Instead, Spencer Fox from The Incredibles took over since he was younger than Shaun. It was unfortunate, but both of them do a great job portraying the mischievous twins.

1 That's So Surprising

via: thewrap.com

Christy might be the voice of Kim for the show’s runtime, but would you believe that the Disney Channel alumni was not the original choice for the awesome redhead? The show would honestly be completely different if this actress picked up the role.

The voice role was actually offered to That’s So Raven’s Anneliese van der Pol.

However, she made the choice to portray the lovable Chelsea instead. It still would have been interesting to hear her voice as Kim and compare her to Christy. Back then, we were happy overall that the two ladies were successful in their roles from their respective shows.
