Bella Ramsey wasn't totally acting while filming the fifth episode of The Last of Us - one of the Clickers really did attack them. In an interview, Ramsey reveals that one of the extras accidentally gave them a black eye while shooting.

However, Ramsey didn't break character, and kept going with the scene. Therefore it's possible that we all saw this injury in real-time, while Ellie, Joel, Henry and Sam escaped the cul-de-sac.

Speaking with IGN, Ramsey proudly recounts the injuries she sustained while filming the chaotic conclusion to The Last of Us episode five - including the incident that left her with a black eye.

"At one point [a Clicker] was flailing around dying...during a take the poor guy whacks me in the eye," says Ramsey. "I almost stopped the take, but I didn't."

Even putting the injury aside, the explosive street fight in episode five certainly wasn't easy to film. With gunfire, literal fire, and dozens of extras to contend with, it was a chaotic day at work for Ramsey to say the least.

"[It was] incredibly stressful in a way that felt amazing," Ramsey continues. "I was so proud of it. I had a great time."

This gives us The Last of Us fans our own version of Viggo Mortensen breaking his toe while filming The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers. And everyone on the planet has heard that one already, so we were long overdue for another actor injury tidbit to tell every single person we know.

Needless to say, Ramsey is incredibly dedicated to the role of Ellie. Last week, they said that they would be happy to star in The Last of Us "for years", even though online trolls and bigots haven't made it easy for the cast. Ramsey says she is particularly looking forward to seeing Dina in The Last of Us show, although some viewers think she made a cameo in last night's episode. But with season two already confirmed, we'll see her for sure soon enough.
