Code Vein is a recently released action RPG by Bandai Namco Entertainment. It's described as being a "Souls" styled game, as the gameplay is inspired by the Dark Souls series. To fight them, humanity found a way to turn their dead into Revenants to fight against these monsters. Updated June 8th, 2020 by Meg Pelliccio: Code Vein is an action-RPG that released last year and as of February 2020, has sold over a million copies. It has received three DLC additions since release and fans are still enjoying this post-apocalyptic-style game. Arguably, Code Vein has the most in-depth and detailed character creation process that any game has ever offered, allowing players to recreate any character of their choosing. While many players opt to faithfully recreate themselves in-game, other fans utilize this impressive feature to recreate some fan-favorite characters from other franchises. Check out some of these awesome creations below.

Cloud - Final Fantasy 7

With many people still hyped about the recent release of Final Fantasy 7 Remake, you can be sure there are a few Code Vein players looking to inject a little bit of Midgar into their game. Fortunately, YouTube user Axiom has you covered and has created a video on how to create Cloud Strife as a custom character in Code Vein. This creation is pretty accurate, managing to include his spiked pauldron and a similar-looking kind of top. Makoto/Queen - Persona 5

Fans are still enjoying the recent release of Persona 5 Royal, which was a re-release of the original and included a host of new content, such as a new character, new personas, new enemies, and more. One of the party members from the game is Makoto, also known by her alter-ego of Queen. Twitter user HereShoo has recreated this fierce Phantom Thieves member for Code Vein, managing to perfect some of the smaller details such as her shoulder spikes and scarf.

2B - NieR: Automata

NieR: Automata is an action-RPG by PlatinumGames that released in 2017 and was positively received by fans and critics alike. The main character 2B has gone on to become a firm fan-favorite, with many cosplaying as her or creating various fan art of this leading lady. Reddit user Zypl0x_XD has created everyone's favorite android in Code Vein. There are a few different fan-made 2B's out there for Code Vein, but this one gets bonus points for getting the style of the sleeves right and maintaining that gothic feel for the clothing.

Squidward - Spongebob Squarepants

When you think of an action RPG game, there are a few popular characters that may spring to mind, but it's likely that Squidward from Spongebob Squarepants was not one of them. However, he can be your next RPG hero now, thanks to this awesome creation by Xephynn. RELATED: The 5 Best Things About Code Vein (& The 5 Worst) Though the look on his face is a bit haunting and may induce nightmares, this version of Squidward is ready to help players fight monsters and unlock their past in Code Vein.

Kakashi - Naruto

Naruto is an anime and manga series with a massive fan-following, so it's no surprise that players have used Code Vein to recreate some of their favorite characters from the franchise, including Hatake Kakashi. This creation by CommanderShockx is particularly good, keeping his Sharingan eye with the scar. It's a shame it's not possible to get the leaf symbol on his forehead protector though. Kakashi is a talented ninja who became Naruto's teacher, alongside Sakura and Sasuke, when they become ninjas.

10 Winter Schnee - RWBY

RWBY is an animated series from Rooster Teeth that takes place in a fictional world called Remnant. Remnant is plagued by monsters called Grimm. The only defense against the Grimm are warriors called Huntsmen and Huntresses who are trained at a young age to protect the world of Remnant.

The story focuses on a team of young Huntresses, Ruby, Weiss, Blake, and Yang, the initial of their names making the series' title and their team name. Winter is the older sister of Weiss, and though she's only been seen in a few episodes, she's portrayed as a strong Huntress, whose's icy exterior hides a warmer and caring interior when it comes to her younger sister. Her custom character design is created by LeMasterChef12345.

9 Archer - Fate/Stay Night

Fate/Stay night is a franchise that started off as a visual novel game from Type-Moon, creators of the Melty Blood game series. The franchise follows highschooler Shirou Emiya, a mage who enters a dangerous tournament called the Fifth Holy Grail War. Those who enter must battle with magic, and summon notable heroes from history, called Servants, in a to-the-death tournament. Archer is one of those Servants who plays a major role in Fate/stay night: Unlimited Blade Works.

In the franchise, Archer uses a bow and arrow as his weapon, and Code Vein doesn't have weapons like that. But this custom character modeled after him by LenzPrime is still pretty awesome!

8 Male Byleth - Fire Emblem: Three Houses

This custom character by Cylent-Night is based on male Byleth from Fire Emblem: Three Houses. It's a tactical RPG set in Fódlan, a land divided by three rival nations under a tentative peace. Players control Byleth, a mercenary who becomes a teacher at the Officers Academy of Garreg Mach Monastery, after rescuing three of its students.

The students turn out to be the heads of the school's three houses and heirs of the throne of the three rival nations. As Byleth players have to choose which house they wish to lead, Black Eagles, Blue Lions or Golden Deer, and train those students.

7 Eliza - Tekken 7

This amazingly accurate Eliza, by Para-Less, is a fitting choice for Code Vein's theme since she's a vampire herself. She's one of the newer characters from the Tekken series, first revealed as an unlockable character in Tekken Revolution but her canonical appearance is in Tekken 7. Not much is known about her, except she's a vampire believed to be over 1000 years old. She ended up accidentally taking a 600-year nap. Part of the reasons she slept so long was because she can't control her sleeping patterns, she even falls asleep while she talks!

She fights to restore her powers, thinking that the blood of a person with an intense spiritual force would do the trick.

6 Ulquiorra Cifer - Bleach

Created by LordTubson, this custom Code Vein character is modeled after the character Ulquiorra Cifer from the anime series Bleach. Bleach is a series about highschooler Ichigo Kurasaki who becomes a "Soul Reaper" someone who fights against creatures called Hollows. Ulquiorra is a type of Hollow called an Arrancar and he first appears during the Arrancar Act.

Ulquiorra is a very powerful Arrancar, which are Hollows who gain similar abilities to Soul Reapers. He's apart of Aizen's Hollow army called the Espada. LordTubson used several different head accessories to make his mask and even made a tutorial on how to do it in the link provided above.

5 Zero Suit Samus - Metroid Series

Samus first came to be in the late 80s with the very first Metroid. In a surprise twist, Samus was revealed to be female and since then she has been one of the earliest female protagonists in video game history and a video game icon. While she's known for her Power Suit, in the game Metroid: Zero Mission, Samus wore the form-fitting Zero Suit as her Power Suit malfunctioned.

Chaloucla's rendition of Zero Suit Samus is amazing and even comes with the glowing part along her chest. Chaloucla warns that this character isn't playable with every accessory she has on her because of the game's cost limit, but there's a video tutorial on how to make Zero Suit Samus in the link provided above.

4 Harley Quinn - Suicide Squad

Harley Quinn is one of DC's most popular female characters. Her story has had her go from being a villainous sidekick to the Joker to teaming up with other popular DC femme Fatales like Poison Ivy and Catwoman, to becoming a hero in her own right and even earning the trust of Batman. And she's never been more popular with Margo Robbie's rendition of her in the movie Suicide Squad.

3 Claude - Fire Emblem: Three Houses

Anyone who loves the Golden Deers in Fire Emblem: Three Houses might just love taking a look at Darth_Mawile's rendition of Claude in Code Vein. It's an amazing replica of the Golden Deer's leader before the time skip. Out of the other three student protagonists, Clause appears to be the most easygoing and laid back.

However deep down he has a very astute mind that makes him a brilliant tactician and makes others keep their guard around him. Hopefully, Darth_Mawile will consider making Claude post time skip as well!

2 Sora - Kingdom Hearts 3

Kingdom Hearts 3 is the 12th game and the conclusion to the "Dark Seeker" saga that began in the first game. Sora returns as the main protagonist of the game, along with Goofy and Donald. They travel across other worlds so Sora can regain his power to restore lost hearts. Sora has become one of the most popular characters in the series and in video game history in general.

JoeSuong's rendition of Sora from Kingdom Hearts 3 is a perfect translation of him into Code Vein, and the golden crown on his head is a nice little touch.

This awesome Code Vein custom character of Link is by JohnnySkwisgaar. Link has been the main protagonist of the games in The Legend of Zelda series since the first one in 1986. Link is depicted as being various ages between the games of the series but he is always of the Hylian race and from the land of Hyrule. The in-game lore explains this as Link being the soul of a legendary warrior who gets reincarnated to fight against the forces of darkness.

He often fights some form of Ganon and must rescue princess Zelda so the two of them can work together to defeat Ganon. JohnnySkwisgaar mentions that it took around 2 hours to create Link and used a combination of different accessories to make the hat.
