Although the Dynasty Warriors series has expanded to the Samurai Warriors and Warriors Orochi titles, bringing the action-packed gameplay of the Romance of the Three Kingdoms into Feudal Japan, Omega Force has also branched out into other spin-offs as well.

These spin-offs span everything from anime to other video game franchises, but not all of them landed as well as others and some have faded into obscurity in recent years, falling in the shadow of much better titles.

17 Fist of the North Star: Ken's Rage 2

Fist of the North Star Ken's Rage 2

A Warriors spin-off based on the excellent Fist of the North Star anime series should have been a sure thing, as the anime is known for its action pack battle scenes. However, it didn't translate as well as it otherwise should have and the reception for Ken's Rage 2 was middling at best.

While it did make some improvements over the original Ken's Rage, it wasn't enough to make the sequel stand out among better titles.

16 Dynasty Warriors: Gundam 2

Like Ken's Rage, Dynasty Warriors: Gundam is based on another long-running anime series with action-packed battle scenes, only this time, you are in control of massive mech suits rather than an angry martial artist.

What really brought Gundam 2 down from its predecessor was the convoluted story elements that were confusing even if you had played the original game. This made Gundam 2 hard to pick up even for long-time fans of the series.

15 Dynasty Warriors: Gundam 3

While Gundam 3 made some slight changes to the original formula of these games, it still wasn't enough for even hardcore Warriors fans to see this as anything other than a lateral step.

While not necessarily bad, Gundam 3 didn't greatly improve on the faults of its predecessors and seemed content in delivering a near-identical experience to Gundam 2.

14 Fist of the North Star: Ken's Rage

Ken's Rage 2 might have been hit or miss, but the original was at least slightly better. In some cases, it had more to offer than the sequel, which is never a good sign.

That being said, the original was a fun brawler in the guise of a Warriors game. It was only let down by the monotony of its gameplay by the end, something few Warriors games have been able to do right.

13 Dynasty Warriors: Gundam Reborn

The most recent in the Gundam series of Warriors games, Gundam Reborn takes elements from each previous entry in the series while also attempting to revamp several aspects. This game is something of a soft franchise reboot.

Unfortunately, this wasn't enough to keep the hype for this spin-off series going, and another Dynasty Warriors: Gundam hasn't been made since 2013.

12 Dynasty Warriors: Gundam

Where Gundam 2 and 3 failed to entice gamers, the original succeeded fairly successfully. Although the appearance of the game was somewhat unpolished for its time, the gameplay was fun and engaging enough to keep players glued to their seats for hours on end while they tore through mechs like paper.

11 One Piece: Pirate Warriors

One Piece Pirate Warriors

The One Piece: Pirate Warriors series has gone on to become one of the best Warriors spin-off titles around, but it didn't start out that way.

With the first title, Pirate Warriors had similar problems to Gundam which, thankfully, were ironed out in subsequent releases, In fact, the most recent iteration, Pirate Warriors 4, is the best One Piece game around.

10 Berserk and the Band of the Hawk

Berserk and the Band of the Hawk

Here is another anime centered Warriors spin-off, this time for the blood and gore-soaked Berserk, that should have been much better than it ended up being.

The fact that, unlike Gundam and Fist of the North Star, the main characters in Berserk mostly use weapons in combat and the series allows for the use of some terrifying monsters certainly helped matters. However, this adaptation just didn't manage to find a way to keep the repetitive nature of Warriors games engaging enough to capture a wider audience.

9 Arslan: The Warriors of Legend

arslan is another great Warriors crossover

One of the Warriors spin-offs that very few gamers have probably heard of, Arslan is an adaptation of the novel, manga, and anime series called The Heroic Legend of Arslan, which is loosely based on the Persian epic Amir Arslan.

Although the original property isn't one of the most popular out there, the Warriors spin-off is one of the better titles based on an anime. Arslan: The Warriors of Legend is well worth looking into if you are a fan of these types of games.

8 Warriors All-Stars

Although the series had already done a crossover title with Warriors Orochi and its sequels, Warriors All-Stars took that concept to a whole new level.

Not only does the roster contain characters from Dynasty Warriors and Samurai Warriors, but also other Koei Techmo games such as Ninja Gaiden, Nioh, Toukiden, and Dead or Alive to make the gameplay some of the more unique in the Warriors series.

7 One Piece: Pirate Warriors 2

The second attempt at bringing One Piece to the Warriors scene was much more successful, learning from the mistakes of the first title to make something much more engaging.

Unlike the original, Pirate Warriors 2 uses an entirely new story separate from the One Piece canon, giving it more breathing room to do what it needs to in order to be a fun game.

6 Fire Emblem Warriors

Warriors's combat blended with Fire Emblem's strategy make a great combo

Although it didn't reach the heights of Hyrule Warriors, Fire Emblem Warriors is by no means a bad game. While it is let down somewhat by several characters having far too similar movesets, it captures the spirit and style of the Fire Emblem series enough to draw in long time fans.

It might even convert those who never thought to try a Warriors game.

5 One Piece: Pirate Warriors 3

The One Piece: Pirate Warriors series only gets better with each new iteration, and Pirate Warriors 3 is no exception. With more characters, including finally being able to play as Luffy's mentor, Shanks, as well as introducing Kizuna Rush, a tag-team system that is used to perform combo attacks, Pirate Warriors 3 feels like Omega Force finally found its groove with Warriors spin-off.

This game continued to prove that Omega Force could make gold out of most franchises the studio was given.

4 One Piece: Pirate Warriors 4

In every aspect where Pirate Warriors 3 excelled, Pirate Warriors 4 soared to even greater heights with an even larger roster of 54 characters as well as the addition of a new game mode called Titan Mode.

This mode scaled every character and enemy to their canon size and made some battles far more challenging, particularly if those characters became much larger.

3 Hyrule Warriors

As a love letter to the Zelda series, Hyrule Warriors managed to not only capture the essence of the series it spawned from with many throwbacks to Ocarina of Time, Twilight Princess, and Skyward Sword, but also several other games through DLC expansions.

The Definitive Edition was later ported to the Switch, which included all previous DLC and ran much smoother than the original release, This version transformed Hyrule Warriors into one of the best Warriors spin-off titles around.

2 Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity

Age of Calamity Link Master Sword

The original Hyrule Warriors would only be outdone by its successor, Age of Calamity. Taking place in a canon storyline this time around, Age of Calamity follows an alternate timeline during the Great Calamity that saw Ganon rise to power and take over Hyrule Castle in Breath of the Wild.

While many players lamented the fact that the already complicated Zelda timeline split once again, it was offset by the brilliant level design, broad but condense range of characters, and engaging gameplay that took many elements from Breath of the Wild.

1 Persona 5 Strikers

persona 5 strikers is shaping up to be the best Warriors title ever

Although it has only seen a limited release so far, Persona 5 Strikers looks to be easily the best Warriors spin-off of all time. Taking place four months after the conclusion of Persona 5, Strikers sees Joker and the Phantom Thieves of Hearts find themselves in an alternate Tokyo, investigating the truth behind a mysterious phenomenon that is changing the hearts of everyone around them. In the meantime, they also have to clear their names as they are being framed for this phenomenon.
