This list is based on both the overall popularity of the Roblox games and the player ratings. We've also included a couple of our favorites from the year, even if they haven't hit those really huge player numbers. Enjoy!

17 DOORS
DOORS is a survival horror game about traversing a mystery world of, you guessed it, spooky doors. It has seen massive popularity well beyond spooky season and has been visited hundreds of millions of times.
The quality of the game is shown by its graphics, lighting, and writing. It's not often that you find a game of this prowess on Roblox, but that's why it finds itself in our best games of 2023. You can grab some freebies in the game by checking out our codes page.
16 Fruit Battlegrounds
Fruit Battlegrounds is a relatively new entry to this list, as it was released in November 2022. The game takes the formula of One Piece games (easily one of the most popular anime to receive the Roblox game experience) and turns it on its head.
You aren't exploring and completing quests all the time, although that is still part of the game, but rather hunting for powerful Devil Fruits to use in PvP. 15 Race Clicker
Race Clicker is the crowning glory of the racing and clicking genre on Roblox, and there have been dozens of these games released. The premise is remarkably simple: click, gain speed, then race. The more you click, the faster you go.
If it was only that simple we're not sure the game would've stayed as popular as it has since its release. You can also collect pets and other boosts that will improve your game, and consistent updates mean there is always some new challenge to strive for. 14 Project Slayers
Project Slayers is another one of our favorite Roblox games. This anime-inspired adventure game has you training up various characters and trying to unlock more powerful clans. Each clan has its own unique ability and playstyle which can be used against NPC enemies.
The game still receives regular updates with new clans, abilities, areas to explore, and new quests. It's a massive game and a testament to the power of Roblox's development engine, especially with its animations, textures, and open-world size. For free clan spins, make sure to visit our code page.
13 Brookhaven RP
Brookhaven is one of the best Roblox games ever released on the platform. It has over 35 billion overall visits, which makes it one of the most popular Roblox games ever, too.
The game is all about roleplaying in a virtual world alongside hundreds of thousands of other players. You can own your own home, run your own car, and interact with the world with jobs and other fun tasks.
12 Mining Simulator 2
Mining Simulator is back. The sequel to the original game has rocketed up the charts. The second game takes everything players loved about the first game - the grind, the treasure, the rewards - and makes them even better.

11 Blox Fruits
Blox Fruits is the original Devil Fruit game, based on the popular manga and anime One Piece. One Piece has a massive presence on Roblox (there are loads of games based on the series) but Blox Fruits rules the roost with players and ratings.

10 A One Piece Game

Following the theme of Blox Fruits, we have to include A One Piece Game in our best games from this year. It's one of the finest versions of the "One Piece Simulator" we've come across, and its massively high rating is a testament to its success.

9 Adopt Me!
No list of the best Roblox games will ever be complete without mentioning Adopt Me! It's one of the most popular games on the platform ever, it has spawned its own spin-off merchandise and game modes, and the developers even mentioned once they might develop a game entirely separately from Roblox.
The aim is simple: explore, unlock new pets, and make new friends. There are hundreds of thousands of players, so you better get started soon! There are no codes for Adopt Me!, but you can check out our trading guide here.
8 Sonic Speed Simulator

Sonic Speed Simulator raced onto the Roblox scene in 2022! It's an official Sonic game in partnership with SEGA, which means players have access to all the authentic characters from the massively popular game franchise.

7 All Star Tower Defense
There are a few great Roblox tower defense games, but All Star Tower Defense just about takes the crown for us. You could always check out Ultimate Tower Defense as well, if you want to change it up a bit.
These tower defense games are great because you get to use a range of unique characters (or towers) to defeat waves of enemies, rather than just cannons and turrets. Check out our All Star Tower Defense codes here.
6 King Legacy
King Legacy is yet another hit One Piece game (we're not biased, we promise!) that makes use of the island-exploration mechanic as a HUGE part of the game. It reminds us a bit of Build A Boat For Treasure, except you don't get to design your own boat.

5 Anime Fighters Simulator
Anime Fighters Simulator is one of the best anime fighting games available right now - there is stiff competition from games like Anime Battle Arena, but AFS is the best because it offers such a wide range of characters and has some of the smoothest combat animations out there.

4 Pls Donate
Pls Donate is a bit different from pretty much every other game on our list. First launching in February of 2022, Pls Donate is one of the only Roblox games that you can earn Robux in. All you need to do is set up a stand and sell gamepasses.

3 Pet Simulator X
Pet Simulator X is a classic Roblox game and, as the name implies, is a simulator all about collecting pets. Who knew that pet-based games would be among the most popular? Interestingly, Pet Simulator X is also one of the original pet-collecting games on Roblox.

2 Berry Avenue
Berry Avenue is a roleplaying game similar to Brookhaven. In this game, you can go to school, work a job, and live in a luxurious house. In general, Berry Avenue seems to attract the younger crowd, but this is perfect if you are a young gamer looking to make Roblox friends.
Roleplaying games where you can simply hang out with friends will never stop being popular on Roblox, which is why Berry Avenue has over one billion visits and nearly 100 players online at the time of this list's publication.
1 Arsenal
Lastly, we have Arsenal. This is a first-person shooter based on the Arms Race mode in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. The goal is simple; kill 32 other players. Each time you kill, you will swap weapons
Arsenal is the perfect fast-paced PvP shooter, allowing you to jump in and use a variety of weapons. Since its launch in 2015, Arsenal has seen nearly five billion views. In 2023, this classic game is still going strong, and worth a try!
