Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus is easy to pick up and a game that is worth replaying. It is not surprising that IGN gave Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus a 9.1 when it first released.

9 Deep Rock Galactic

Deep Rock Galactic, developed by Danish indie studio Ghost Ship Games is available on PC and Xbox. It's not a shooter that has the highest budget, yet the gameplay is surprisingly fun. It is an online multiplayer game that everyone should try.

"Teamwork is Key" when mining minerals and retrieving lost items in Deep Rock Galactic. Deep Rock Galactic has tons of content to keep players busy and it can be purchased on the Steam Store for 24.99 USD. Not expensive considering it's a cooperative first-person shooter that could provide 70 hours of gameplay.

8 Insurgency: Sandstorm

This tactical multiplayer first-person shooter is relatively unknown in the shooter genre. It may be tough to compete in an already flooded first-person shooter market, but Insurgency: Sandstorm takes an excellent shot at it. Insurgency Sandstorm doesn't have the highest reviews.

Some of the gameplay reminds us of what we might have seen in a 2006 game. Still, with immersive and hot first-person action, Insurgency: Sandstorm is a top ten contender for best shooter of 2018. Insurgency: Sandstorm is available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC and Mac, and Linux.

7 Just Cause 4

One of the first things you'll notice when playing Just Cause 4 is its graphics have significantly improved. The world map is far more detailed. Vehicles including helicopters and fighter jets can be piloted when you are not wingsuit gliding.

Parachuting and base jumping is a large part of Just Cause 4. You can also drive a variety of cars in the game. Just Cause 4 isn't a top contender for 2018, but it could be worth buying on sale if you are into action/adventure shooters.

After the released of the widely successful Battlefield 1, players and critics alike expected Battlefield V to be a knockout. Battlefield V's launch was riddled with problems such as its buggy gameplay and slow servers. Also, not all the content to be contained in Battlefield V was present in the release version.

In March 2019, Battlefield V Firestorm will launch as part of the "Trial By Fire" update. Battlefield V Firestorm is a Battle Royale mode which is new to Battlefield. Can Battlefield V compete with a now flooded Battle Royale industry with games like Fortnite, Apex Legends, and Call of Duty: Black Ops 4? Hopefully, Electronic Arts won't let us down.

5 Far Cry 5

Set in Montana, Far Cry 5 is packed with numerous weapons and multiple vehicles. Far Cry 5 delivers what previous entries in the franchise did. Using the sighted compound bow provides few dull moments.

Multiplayer online in Far Cry 5 is worth playing. It wasn't the most excellent online shooter in 2018, but there's a good chance it will surpass your expectations. Game modes such as Assault, Outpost, Bounty Hunt, Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, and Hunt are a thrill. Far Cry is becoming well-known in the gaming community and Far Cry 5 is a fine addition to the series.

4 PUBG Mobile

The fourth best game on this list is a mobile game for Android and iOS. PUBG Mobile includes most of the content in PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds but has worse graphics and a different set of controls. Using onscreen buttons, the objectives you'll compete in a Battle Royale setting that is nearly identical to PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds.

The transition from console and PC to mobile was one of the most seamless we've seen in a while. Considering the app is free, you may want to download PUBG Mobile today.

3 Desinty 2: Forsaken

Destiny 2 released in 2017, but their latest expansion titled "Destiny 2: Forsaken" was a significant improvement to the original game. Destiny 2: Forsaken added new locations such as Tangled Shore and Dreaming City, new exotics like Ace of Spades and Trinity Ghoul exotic bow, and a new game mode called "Gambit."

Gambit is a PvP and PvE mode that determines the winning team by who can eliminate the most enemies. With new enemies and regular updates, there hasn't been a better time to dive into Destiny 2.

2 Call Of Duty: Black Ops 4

Treyarch has decided to get in on the Battle Royale hype by featuring it in their Black Ops sequel. Call of Duty Black Ops: 4 is one of the best shooters of 2018. Debatably, Call of Duty's style of play was getting stale and repetitive until the release of Black Ops 4. Developer Treyarch almost perfected the Battle Royale game mode with their October 12, 2018 release.

Thankfully, they've mostly removed the futuristic element that was deterring players in Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare. Now people can enjoy Battle Royale with Call of Duty's sophisticated leveling system that rewards players for playing. Their cutting-edge gameplay works phenomenally with Battle Royale.

1 Red Dead Redemption 2

Red Dead Redemption 2 has a remarkable score of 97 on Metacritic from an average of 98 critics. It's no wonder why Red Dead won four awards including Best Narrative, Best Audio Design, Best Score/Soundtrack, and Best Performance at the Game Awards ceremony.

The story follows protagonist Arthur Morgan, a gunslinging cowboy, who with the outlawed Van der Linde gang, decides to rob a train. With the ability to go first-person and third-person, shooting in Red Dead Redemption 2 is in a league of its own. As a prequel to 2010's Red Dead Redemption, Red Dead Redemption 2 is a must play for shooter and action/adventure fans alike.
