Another year of VR games shows us more and more that there is very little that VR can't do. With each new entry into the medium, there is a growing feeling the possibilities will be endless in the kind of experiences people can enjoy. We're not quite to the point where we have Star Trek's holodeck, but it feels like it is getting closer.

10 Among Us VR

Among Us VR

Among Us has obviously been a big hit with its "imposter in our midst" gameplay and cheap cost, coming at just the right time. Its social and casual nature makes this an easy game to enjoy. The VR version takes the 2D graphics of the original and turns them into a 3D experience, which is a nice change-up.

An additional proximity chat feature adds a lot of strategy to the gameplay and is absent in the 2D version. We don't need to tell you that Among Us is a great game, but what we do need to say is if you get a group of adults together for this experience, it really shines.

9 Zenith: The Last City

Zenith The Last City Trailer

Zenith: The Last City delivers a VR MMORPG experience with inspired themes from anime shows. Critics were pleased with the way the game was able to pioneer VR in the MMO genre, and players enjoyed the combat mechanics and the massive landscapes to explore.

It's a huge step for VR gaming, showing its potential in new ways. Games like Everquest and Ultima Online brought MMO PC Gaming to the forefront: perhaps this is the game that really pushes MMO into the VR sphere.

8 NFL Pro Era

NFL Pro Era Gameplay

Ever since the first-person mode hit NFL 2k5, people have been interested in how the VR experience could handle an NFL game. While Madden has been around since the '80s, it has become stagnant, NFL Pro Era takes a step into the VR world. You take on the role of your favorite NFL QB as this is fully licensed as a football game.

As a first entry into NFL VR experiences, the potential of this series lands the game on this list. Status Pro has done a good job of putting normal people in the middle of an NFL game. Let's hope you don't end up tackling the TV by mistake.

7 Ultimechs

Ultimechs Trailer

Imagine Rocket League with boxing mechs and you have the outline for Ultimechs. Resolution Games put together an exciting mech sports game that is its own experience, and free to play to boot.

You will find yourself playing this game a lot if you're the kind of person that enjoys online, competitive sports games. Now, the only thing this game needs to shine brighter is the chance to battle Kaiju.

6 Bonelab

Bonelab Trailer

Bonelab is a sequel of sorts to Boneworks, not really hell-bent on having a story-driven game but rather a sandbox with ragdoll physics. The game has all the fun stuff - gunplay, puzzles, and brawling.

This game handles well - always a must for a VR game - and gives you tons of freedom and challenges when moving through its various stages. It's a hectic blast to play, that is for sure. Things might get a little too busy for people new to VR headsets, but for the rest of us, it's going to be a wild time just playing around with the mayhem.

It's essentially Rube Goldberg in VR, and we absolutely love that concept. The game designer Pontoco nails the feel of the world. Other aspects such as voice acting and music are great as well. Rube would be proud of this entry into VR gaming.

4 Requisition VR: Home Alone

Requisition VR Gameplay

Oh, this game is fun. Really fun. Arcadia developed Requisition VR: Home Alone and spared no expense in gameplay. Requisition is probably the best co-op zombie sandbox game. You can play by yourself or with up to four players, using the gigantic crafting system and trap-making mechanic to fend off the undead.

Use almost anything to fight off zombies: silverware, housewares, leaf blowers, and custom-made weapons. The game is not only a ton of fun, but it's also scary when zombies break through the barricades you have set up. Arcadia melded zombie games and VR together in great fashion.

3 Tentacular

Tentacular VR Gameplay

In Tentacular, you take control of a tentacled monster that doesn't intend to destroy the community of La Kalma, but rather help it. This puzzle game has you using your big tentacle arms to build things or move citizens around. It is a light-hearted gaming experience, visible by the graphics.

There are loads of good times to be had with this game. Firepunched Games did an incredible job turning a classic cliché - a tentacled sea monster - into a VR experience that is engaging and one that will get you laughing.
