One of the appeals behind the Xbox One were the exclusive titles that couldn’t be found on any other console. For many players this was the driving factor behind choosing the Xbox One, which made it important for Microsoft to line up some solid titles.

According to Metacritic there were a number of games that did a fantastic job showing off what the Xbox One was capable of. Racing games, fighting titles, RPGs, and an indie horror titles are among the best exclusives for the Xbox One according to Metacritic.

10 Forza Horizon 2: Storm Island (Metascore 82)

Forza Horizon 2: Storm Island expanded open the original game by including hostile weather conditions, off road tracks, new vehicles, and a general increase in difficulty. Players could slide around on muddy roads against opponents that seemed a little tougher to race.

Critics had a lot of good things to say about the expansion. Many felt it was a bit expensive for an expansion at $25, but the weather effects made for a challenging and fun experience. The off road tracks were similarly praised for shaking up the model a bit.

Halo: The Master Chief Collection compiled the first four games in the series and Halo: Nightfall into one title. Following the iconic Master Chief it was a remaster of his familiar story fighting the Covenant, the Flood, Sentinels, and other horrors in the galaxy.

Even the most skeptical critics were surprised by how well the remake was made. They praised the enhanced graphics, mechanical tweaks, and how fleshed out the multiplayer felt. It was a package deal that successfully bridged the gap of pleasing nostalgic fans and enticing newcomers to the series.

Forza Motorsport 7 was a giant in the series for having a startling amount of content. There were 30 locations with various tracks to race in and 200 ribbons to chase after. But what players spent the most time on was collecting more than 700 cars.

Critics really enjoyed this monster of a racing title. Many liked the grind for the ultimate collection including cars that had never appeared in a Forza title. The grind itself was also praised for solid racing mechanics and interesting tracks.

Forza Horizon 2 is one of the older Forza titles on this list, but one of the better reviewed. Featuring day and night cycles, an open world, and more than 200 exotic cars it was a solid racing title.

Critics thought the graphics were gorgeous on the Xbox One and loved the solid gameplay. Some critics loved the less realistic off road gameplay while others were more drawn to the realistic races on official tracks.

6 Killer Instinct: Season 3 (Metascore 86)

Killer Instinct pits various heroes and villains from different backgrounds against in each in glorious gladiatorial combat. In this fighting game the player can rush into battle as the Arbiter from Halo, Rash from Battletoads, or a variety of original characters.

It was seen as a solid fighting title by critics that could contend with more familiar franchises like Soul Caliber, Mortal Kombat, and Street Fighter. Season 3 in particular delivered on some interesting new characters and the well implemented free-to-play model was received favorably by critics and fans alike.

It was a fun experience for critics who enjoyed the novelty of less realism and deep nostalgia. It was a childhood dream come to life as players could now race those cars on crazy and intense tracks. It felt like an entirely separate experience from the more grounded base game.

Critics loved the contrast from the warm Australia environments and the new challenges imposed by weather. It added difficulty to a game that needed it and brought a welcome change of pace. It may have been a bit smaller, but it provided dozens of hours of new content to the game.

3 Forza Motorsport 6 (Metascore 87)

Forza Motorsport expanded on the racing series in unique and exciting ways. Players had more than 450 cars to race with along with full customization to tweak and alter those cars to fit the track’s needs. The game also introduced full damage and realistic cockpits to drive in.

Critics were impressed with the graphics, sound, and fluid controls the game had to offer. They enjoyed the accessibility for new gamers and the difficult challenges found deeper in the title. Even the criticism that it takes too long to test drive every car available seems like a good problem to have.

While Forza Horizon 3 had many strong expansions that critics loved, the main game was considered an impressive title. The player could explore Australia from behind the wheel of over 350 vehicles. There was also the Horizon Festival aspect to the game that allowed players to hire and fire friends to gain more fans.

It was a change that critics enjoyed from previous titles, believing it added more depth and enjoyment to the traditional racing. The map for Australia was considered large and critics felt it would take hundreds of hours to see and explore everything the game had to offer.

The best racing exclusive title for the Xbox One was Forza Horizon 4. Not only could players explore Britain in 450 different cars, they could do so with dynamic and changing seasons.

Being able to explore Britain with the changing of the leaves or racing against other players on icy roads was a blast for critics. Forza Horizon 4 was considered a major improvement over previous titles, which is saying something considering how highly reviewed the third title and its expansions were.
