The Wolfenstein, Prey, and Dishonored game series will have a home on Xbox Series X/S as the ESRB has leaked that multiple Bethesda collections are coming to the system.
The Wolfenstein Alt History Collection and Dishonored & Prey The Arkane Collection have been listed on the North American ratings board as spotted by Redditor Iroshino. Both are obviously rated M for Mature, but we don't know how (or if) these games will be remastered for the Xbox Series X and S.
The Alt History Collection is currently available on the PS4 and Xbox One and contains all four titles in the modern Wolfenstein series: The New Order, Old Blood, The New Colossus, and Youngblood. It retails for $79.99. This set of games may get some improved framerates, loading times, and some impressive auto-HDR on the Xbox Series of consoles.
The Arkane Collection may have Dishonored: Definitive Edition, Dishonored 2, Dishonored: Death of the Outsider, and Prey, which would fit that four game quota. An improvement in load times would definitely help the flow of these Arkane developed titles.
It's interesting that these collections are listed for the Xbox Series rather than the PS5 as Microsoft recently announced its plans to purchase ZeniMax Media, the parent company of Bethesda, for $7.5 billion. There's a possibility these collections could have a few upgrades that will be exclusive to Xbox's next-gen machine. They could be listed on the ESRB for an Xbox Game Pass release as well, due to Microsoft's plan of incorporating Bethesda as a first-party studio. Bethesda has said that it loves the potential of Xbox Game Pass, after all.
Whatever the case may be, these games from Arkane and MachineGames are worthy of your time. The modern Wolfenstein series features high-intensity, first-person shooter action that is thrilling to play, and the Dishonored titles allow for plenty of creativity within its stealth sandbox world. Just be aware that Wolfenstein will make fun of you for playing it on its easiest difficulty, "Can I Play, Daddy?"
One of the shakiest games out of the bunch, Wolfenstein: Youngblood, had to receive patches to help with its quality of life, difficult gameplay, and multitude of bugs. Perhaps with this collection, Youngblood could be more appealing to fans of the series as it has been updated since its release.
