We're all looking for things to do as the quarantine period grows ever longer. Gaming is an obvious choice, and stocks in video game companies are rising to reflect that. Board games aren't doing as well, although there does seem to be a demand for new games housemates can all play together. That makes it the perfect time for board game publishers to put some products on sale to tempt bored households. Enter GameNerdz.

GameNerdz is an online retailer of tabletop games and related accessories, and they've smartly been doing a Deal of the Day. Today's deal is Betrayal at Baldur's Gate at about 50% its original price. It comes down to $26.97 from its usual $50.

If the name sounds familiar, it's because Betrayal at Baldur's Gate is both a version of Betrayal at House on the Hill and a Dungeons & Dragons product. Gameplay follows the standard Betrayal structure of players taking on different characters with one role-based power, then exploring to uncover a haunt. Only in this version the characters are the iconic D&D classes, and their powers follow suit. The "haunts" in Betrayal at Baldur's Gate tend to be D&D monsters that the players must then destroy.

One interesting gameplay deviation is that some of the haunts create a new NPC villain that the players team up to destroy. This cooperative twist is new, as standard Betrayal relies on one player suddenly becoming the villain. That alone might make it worth $27 for hardcore tabletop gamers, or those that are fast becoming bored with Catan for the thousandth time.
