Among Us Was Almost Cancelled In 2019

The game later rocketed to success, but way back in 2019, the developer behind Among Us, Innersloth, had all but given up on further development, moving onto other projects. "We were basically done with it at the start of 2019," Innersloth Founder Marcus Bromander said. Having just launched its third map and a couple of big updates, the executive apparently thought “that’s it, no more, time to work on something else.” Innersloth even started “prototyping some other game ideas that got pretty far.” Well, things turned out rather nicely in the end, I suppose.

John Cena Is "Already Looking For More Ways To Be Involved" In Fortnite

John Cena seems ready to get more involved with Fortnite. The professional bodybuilder was previously turned into a skin for the game, but why stop there? “Overwhelmed with the response from the Fortnite community and so grateful to now have ‘skin’ in the game," Cena joked about his avatar. "Already looking for more ways to be involved! Thank you!" Something to look forward to in the future.

Sony Believes Activision's Buyout Could Influence Console Buying Decisions

Sony is apparently concerned that certain game franchises currently owned by Activision Blizzard could influence which consoles people buy once control of the company falls to Microsoft. The news comes from a recent questionnaire asking about the upcoming merger. “No other developer can devote the same level of resources and expertise in game development,” Sony argued. “Even if they could, Call of Duty is overly entrenched so that no rival – no matter how relevant – can catch up.”

TwitchCon Drops Vaccine And Mask Requirements, Raising Health And Safety Concerns

TwitchCon just updated its policy regarding vaccines, testing, and yes, even masks. The result has been something of an uproar. “We’re constantly reviewing our health and safety guidelines along with local authorities,” Twitch announced. “In accordance with current local guidelines, there will be no COVID-19 vaccination or testing requirements at TwitchCon.” The streaming service added that “although masks are encouraged, they are not currently required to attend TwitchCon. Please ensure you are comfortable with our current health and safety measures before you purchase your ticket to TwitchCon.” The move immediately drew comparisons to the recently held Comic-Con which caused numerous people to catch COVID-19 despite much more stringent health and safety measures.
