Sony Is Being Sued £5 Billion For Overcharging PlayStation Players
The gaming giant Sony has just been handed a huge bill for overcharging PlayStation players. The matter is currently in the courts and so it remains to be seen if the company will actually have to pay, but if a consumer rights champion by the name of Alex Neill has their way, Sony will soon be getting served a big invoice. "The game is up for Sony PlayStation," Neill remarked. "With this legal action, I am standing up for the millions of UK people who have been unwittingly overcharged. We believe Sony has abused its position and ripped off its customers. The actions of Sony are costing millions of people who can't afford it, particularly when we're in the midst of a cost of living crisis and the consumer purse is being squeezed like never before." The company was allegedly “ripping people off” by charging a 30 percent commission on sales.
Ubisoft Denies It’s Making A Blade Game
The rumor mill went into overdrive yesterday after some leaked images came to the attention of the public which suggested that a Blade game could be in the works at Ubisoft. This might still be the case. Technically. Ubisoft has however been deflating these rumors, taking to social media platforms including Twitter. “Sorry to slice up the rumors,” the company tweeted. “We're not making a Blade game, but we can't wait to see what our friends at Marvel Studios are cooking up for next year's movie.” Oh, well.
Pokemon Scarlet & Violet Battle Modes Reveals Ranked, Casual, And Online Competitions
Pokemon Scarlet & Violet now has a bunch of confirmed Battle Modes including Ranked, Casual, and Online Competitions. “With the Battle Stadium feature in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet, you’ll be able to use the internet to enjoy battling Trainers from all over the world,” the official announcement made during the recent Pokemon World Championships notes. “Ranked Battles which players have had the chance to enjoy in Pokemon Sword & Shield will be returning in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet. Players will be able to take on battles in the Casual Battles and Online Competitions modes as well. Get ready to have heated Pokemon battles with the new partners you meet in the Paldea region!” Well, as they say, something old, something new.
Star Wars: Knights Of The Old Republic Remake Changes Developer
The upcoming Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Remake has been in the works for a while now, but fans of the franchise haven’t heard much apart from the occasional snippet of news here and there. The latest development is that producer Embracer seems to have taken the project away from Aspyr, handing responsibility over to Saber Interactive. The two studios were previously working on the game together. The news comes from journalist at Bloomberg Jason Schreier who described how “the highly anticipated Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Remake has been moved from Texas based Aspyr Media to a Saber Interactive studio in Eastern Europe.” Schreier went on to say that “parent company Embracer hinted at the transition last week and Bloomberg News can confirm it today.” What this means for the game remains unclear.
PlayStation VR 2 Releasing Early 2023
PlayStation VR 2 has been scheduled for a launch at some point in early 2023, surely welcome news for the growing community of VR players. This was previously rumored to be the case, but the parent company behind PlayStation, Sony, has always been rather quiet on the matter. "My latest supply chain check suggests that the assembler and several component providers of the PlayStation VR 2 will start mass production with about 1.5 million unit shipments in the second half of 2022,” Analyst at TF International Securities Ming-Chi Kuo said on Twitter back in May. "Sony may launch it in the first quarter of 2023 depending on the development schedule of PlayStation VR 2 game titles.” The analyst added that "I believe PlayStation VR 2 will have a good start thanks to the support of more than 20 game titles from first and third-party developers at launch.” Let's hope so.
